I know there is a lot going against Borg lock boxes. We already have the Borg adapted space set, Borg prosthetic weapons, liberated Borg boffs/doffs and Omega adapted Borg weapons.
*Spoiler*
Story wise, we know the Tal Shiar have been working with Borg technology to enhance their ships. FED/KDF created and disbanded Task Force Omega to counter the Borg. But I think we can still get a little more out of the most feared faction in ST.
The one thing I wish I could do is fly a Borg ship, like a Sphere. It's one of the most annoying enemy ships in the game but could easily be made into a playable version. A cube would be cool, but would probably be way too slow to be usable and too big of a target. Maybe have a fully assimilated FED/KDF/RRW ship [not just Borg enhanced] as a very rare reward. We know there are assimilated Klingon ships in STF Cure and we know the Borg have assimilated countless ships.
Could also have Borg enhanced consoles as rewards. Like enhanced Warhead Yield Chamber, Directed Energy Distribution Manifold and Prefire Chamber that give 35% damage increase.
Could also have a reusable space defense turret instead of the normal consumable ones. Borg enhanced warp cores.
Just an idea.

-1 lockbox ship
-1 Borg (new aliens plox)
-1 I feel like being a TRIBBLE and evil today
+1 35% damage increase
-1 makes my wallet hate me
How hard is that to understand? For a borg ship to be playable it would need to be nerfed into oblivion. What's the point? Just leave them as the major enemy. FFS!
Kirk's Protege.
sooo this^^^^^^^^^
system Lord Baal is dead
it could have the same hull and weapons as the ones in STFS
and be limited (untradable) to the account of the finder
just one tiny tiny thing
It should be useable only by lifetimers EVER
This.
That's all I have to say.
I agree, As for the ships needing to be nerfed... same could be said for the Scimitar, it should not be or ever be a playable ship.

You can pick your prize up next week, in the next "We need a Borg lockbox" thread.
Thanks for watching, and good night.
Playable borg is like that.
and kill all enemies within a 20km radius.
'Nuff said.
Unless they want to give me a playable Q. Then I'd look the other way on the Borg.
It's because people hope to grab those ships for EC off the exchange while other "crazies" invest a stupid amount of money in keys. And people do that, it works. Borg ships in a lockbox would be a gold mine for PWE.
As far as I'm concerned I'd rather see borg lockbpx ships than some made-up uberships or Section 31 stuff. Why? At least it's canon material and I can laugh at people throwing their money at PWE for a flawed game. Plus I don't care for lockboxes or the mess STO calls a story anyway
EDIT: at least 70% of STO playerbase play or "RP" a borg anyway. Might as well give them "proper" ships

Do i like the idea? No, no and let me make that clear: NO.
We have enough Borg enhancements.
1) That a player wants a Borg lockbox.
or
2) That a player wants a lockbox.
Gamers are their own worst enemy. No wonder companies are always so glad to fleece them from all directions.
6 front/0 aft
can only equip DHC
The hardest part is not to kill but to find where the front is on a sphere.
Cryptic has trained the players that if you want a ship that should never be available, then it must be in a lockbox. The only ship that violates this is the Galaxy X, but that was introduced long before lockboxes. If the Galaxy X was introduced now, then it would be in a lockbox instead of the C-Store.
Anytime they log onto that toon after that, all they should see are the Borg drone effects we see now if the Borg happen to assimilate you in ground combat
So NOT this^^^^^^^^^
PWE came up with a (lame, but okay) canonical explanation for having stripped the temporal ships of all superior technology too (save a few time consoles). I'm sure they could easily invent a similar rationale for reduced-strength cubes and spheres as well.
Ultimately, it's all about having fun, and ppl willing to pay for it. I, for one, would gladly shell out for a cute little sphere. And a cube too (which would probably not only turn like a brick, but finally look the part too).
And, if anything, since we already have Borg shield, deflectors, weps, and engines, it makes much sense to finally get a playable Borg ship too.
Although you were trying to be funny, there *is* something to be said for introducing Borg ships that are *only* playable by actual Borg playable characters (yes, we now have those too).
There, now it's fixed.
im gonna be honest here i may end up trolling a bit in the point.
i dont agree with cubes, especially a tactical cube! can you imagine a group of 5 tactical cube players wondering around maximizing their ablities during pvp?, they would be untouchable. you really think thats a good game balancer there or just a major brain fade moment? not even the ever destructive bug ship would be able to get on top of that.
even a cube is bad enough with a shield neutralizer weapon and a crit torpedo hit. a sphere is pushing it, but acceptable like the interceptor and the old probes that were retired from sto a while back.
edit: borg warp cores? they dont have traditional warp cores, they have transwarp coils. so any borg ship will travel transwarp as primary compared to the slower traditional warp speeds which the coil is capable of.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
But if they were to do a Borg cube as a lock-box ship, it should be a cruiser with ridiculous amount of hull and terrible turn and shield rates
I know, I was just saying it should not be a playable ship... it should just be left as a powerful NPC enemy.... But I know, Profit has to come first.
A playable cube (Not that there should be one) would be nothing like the NPC Borg Cube, it would be beaten with the nerf bat so hard it would be more like a Sugar Cube. Imagine 5 players in PvP all using Scimitars, you would not touch them if the ships are exactly the same as the NPC version.... but they are not.... they will have been beaten down with a nerf bat.
