is something wrong with tribble breeding ?

i used to breed tribbles

i say used to because it doesn't seem to work like "the old days" ...
(i recently started playing again)

i have two BOFFs atm who are trying to breed tribbles in thier Devices slots.

one has a tribble velasquez and 3 Romulan Osol Twist which should produce 3 Tribble nielson which are earmarked for my away team.

another has ketracel white and 2 tribbles of blue/green quality in an attempt to make a Gamma Quadrant Tribble

they've both been stuck like that for ages and ages and its causing me concern because i used to breed loads of tribbles this way (in BOFF device slots).

i've even previous breed nielsons this way for my alts...

has something changed i dunno about ?

Only thing I know about tribble breeding is follow the right chart and tribbles only breed at X:00 of played time. That can be determined through the /played command. Haven't heard of any serious change to tribbles except the additional ones from FE rewards.
