Am i doing something wrong?

I first played this game nearly 2 years ago, and stopped after about a week (strange I know)

I've been playing again for another few weeks now and really enjoying but, heres my question,
I finally have the hegh'ta (again) from the first time I was playing, now no matter what weapons or consoles I have put in, my ship either dies really quickly (I know bop's have low hull strength) or my dps is terrible compared to others that play

So basically are they any tips on what I should use as a decent weapon type and some hints on what consoles to use, as to be fair i'm not the greatest at this game

Since you are in the hegh'ta the same ship as me I will assume like me you are just starting out gearing up.Must say I never had any trouble so far though.

First thing is get the disrupter/plasma hybrid blue quality DHC's from that early mission who's name I forget.Get the jem harda set,get all +disruptor tactical consoles
