I know the Warbirds have more capabilities than we get in the game, but I can't remember how much of a edge they have.

anyhow I also think they should have more options.... Unless the Romulans are that Genius, and know not to mess with Success.

Well, Warbirds in STO quite clearly have a number of distinctive features that differentiate them from the Starships of Starfleet and the KDF. Ubiquitous Battle Cloaks, Singularity Warp Cores and Singularity Powers are chief amongst those. There are fewer Warbirds that fit purely into the traditional Escort/Science/Cruiser categories; this indicates the possibility for more advanced hybrid builds, given the prevalence of Universal BOff slots on the T5 Retrofits.

From a game development perspective, I personally don't have an issue with Romulans having less ships available at launch than Federation or Klingons; "quality over quantity" is the key operator here.

I'm sure there will be a warbird out there that suits your style of play. Perhaps you might like to ask for suggestions or build advice that might improve your playing experience.
Forget the possibility of PvP, for so much has become pay-to-win, never to be balanced. Forget the promise of exploration and research, for in the grim dark future of Star Trek Online there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting publishers.

For science and cruiser I'd agree, but as far as escort goes, I think the Romulans have a wealth of options, many residing in the same hull. The only weakness in the flexible ships I can see is that some have the career focus on the ensign and commander slots, meaning you can end up with redundant powers if you make the lt cmdr also that career.

I dunno, I think the Romulan ships have a lot of dakka, the singularity powers are key to getting the full effect of Romulan shp capability right. That includes putting the right Sing into the ship of your choice based on what you want to do with it.

I know its pretty much the default answer but its the truth, personally myself Rom ships are quirky excellent all round ships that if handled right are beasts.

They are more difficult to handle too. The quirky nature. The sing powers add more buttons to jab and time right. DD, is a cruiser that wants to be an escort that has sci leanings for example. Very quirky range of ships. I love them. KDF are for me a defunct faction, more Rom content please!
