Combat Impulse Engines are efficient at low power levels (I'm guessing that means power level 25). So doesn't the skill Warp Core Efficiency and any trait/ability that increase it detrimental to the engines performance because it increases it?
- Being "efficient" at low power levels only means they lose less performance than other engine types when you have low engine power. Combat Engines at power level 50 are still going to perform better than Combat Engines at power level 25, it's just that the dropoff from 50 to 25 is not as big as with other engines.
- Combat Impulse Engines are the best type among the three when your engine power level is less than 50 (all else being equal).
- Many people find them to be impractical at endgame since all their bonuses mean their engine power level is around 50 or higher regardless of build.
