Ce still impossible

The CE event is still impossible. It usually can kill in 2 or 3 shots. No shields. Instantly. Gone. Then you get vaporized. That is ridiculous. It has not been tuned down.

    Hint - Tachyon Beam is your friend.

    Also, is this CE or CE Elite? CE Normal is a piece of cake. CE Elite requires...finesse.

    ^This^ The reason I wont do the elite is because I'm not ready and would hate to be the weak link that causes a group to fail CE:Elite.

    As to the normal version, IMHO Cryptic have never been able to balance the entity right, it is either to easy, or far too hard. If you get a decent pug for CE it's toast in less than 10 minutes usually. I tend to concentrate on the Tholians with my Valdore retrofit occasionally popping cannon rapid fire and Torpedo high yield on the entity if I find myself in a position to do so. Still not sure if it is immune to the Valdore's 2 minute cool down forward weapon, but I'm too buy dodging shards or popping fleet aux+ engine batteries to notice.

    I am talking about CE elite. I have a decent TSAD build with all mk XII gear.

    Simply having a good build doesn't cut it in CE Elite - you need an entire team with good gear and the right build. Most of the problem comes from the CE's Recrystalise Ability - any time the small crystaline shards return to the CE, it gains a stacking 2% Dmg bonus. Let this go unchecked and you can soon see Recrystalise applied to the CE over 100 times. That's when it starts opening up un-defendable TRIBBLE-whuppin's left, right and center.

    To counter this, someone needs to periodically debuff it using Tachyon beam. You can use Tyken's Rift too, but it's not as effective. After that, it's the same as normal, it's just a little tougher than it's normal counterpart.

    No, it's just about right.
    So far I did 3 runs.

    One was on normal and was very easy.

    Two were on Elite, if which one failed because people we're leaving and only one other ship besides my on remained.
    The Trick is persistency. The will be aoment around 30% HP left where it gets a bit harder but since it doesn't have the spike heals anymore you just have to keep your DPS up.
    With Monotanium and whatever console protects against all energy damage you can hold out pretty well. Make heavy use of Tac Team, shield and hull heals. I wad tanking it in an Armitage. Had aggro almost the entire time because I kept pumping torps out.

    Elite is not easy but doable even in a pug.

    I imagine with most fleets people don't actually group but pug everything. The new CE event is like the old event ... out of reach of 99% of the populations.

    Great job devs :rolleyes:

    Eh. It's not out of the reach of PuGs, provided;

    a.) Someone plays as Science, or at least spares and Ensign slot for Tachyon Beam

    And;

    b.) You have some backbone and don't expect the Elite CE to bend over and die as quickly as the Normal version, and actually see it through to the end, instead of running at the first sign of it getting difficult.

    The fact is, Elite is meant to be tough, but not so tough that it's impossible. If you follow the right cues and use the right tactics, it's simple.

    Oh, and c.) Stop trying to tank the shockwave attack to get first place. So far, i've yet to see someone survive it on Elite.

    Quite possible. Just did it last night with only one other coordinated person (flying a Jem'Hadar Dreadnaught Carrier). It was difficult, but entirely possible now.

    However, I will state that it is nowhere NEAR worth the amount of marks it gives. Go do Vault Ensnared if you want marks.

    Agreed.

    Given that Elite STFs dish out close to 60-80 marks in additiont to 960 Dilithium and the chance for Mk XI and above gear, CEE's measly 40 Marks, 480 Dilithium and Mk X gear are ridiculously paltry, as rewards go.

    This. Why should I bother grinding the same old TRIBBLE with a big chance of failure when I can do Elite Conduit with a sure 75 marks for omega or vault for Rom.

    It also doesn't jibe / fit with the STO mode of being casual friendly. My own experience of TOR, which was relatively casual to other MMO, failure in FPs (like STF) was very possible. Not so here unless rainbow boats show up.

    Underlined: Yes! To me the main problem with pugs is exactly that! "Everyone" goes flying around pretty much ignoring the shards; not understanding - or worse - not caring what they do for the Entity. Finally completed it for like the 2nd time and no shards? I went in and was protecting some of the DPS'ers in my Andorian Charal lol

    CE elite IS balanced. It requires Finesse.

    Have 4 Science ships with 2 copys of tachyon Beam and Gravity Well, have 2 Cruisers of any class healing, and the rest of the ships Escorts fireing Cannon Scatter volley.

    You will OBLITERATE CE.
