So, I know that there are some things in the game that have not yet caught up with Legacy of Romulus play - though I do find that curious with all of the hype leading up to its release and all of the lead time and huge amounts of input in both closed and open beta prior to launch.
Some of this is to be expected, however, so we move ahead and shrug off a lot of the small stuff. Having said that, especially with the currently offered replay - for unique reward - of the Featured Series, it is strange that Romulan characters are being told of a couple of their "rewards," but are then not receiving them, at least not how the story describes.
An example of this is the "Cloaked Intentions" series, through which you are supposed to receive the special Reman Bridge Officer and a special ground trophy granted to you by Obisek ("Captain, Obisek has beamed something aboard the ship for you..."). Now, it's a bit of a redundancy to grant the Reman crew member to a Romulan/Reman captain who has an all- or mostly-Romulan/Reman crew already, so I can see where the award of a standard Reman BOff for the mission's completion comes in. The question is: why is all the storyline hype kept?
At the close of "Darkness Before the Dawn," there is a stream of dialogue regarding the Reman "officer who has expressed a desire to join [the] crew," and a wishing well thereto by Obisek. In standard gameplay, the Reman BOff then comes aboard, and is novel because of his dress, abilities, and so on. But, as a Romulan captain, that Reman Officer is awarded to you by the Republic, NOT by Obisek, even though you must complete that dialogue before you receive the BOff. Additionally, there is the added dialogue regarding the new floor display trophy for players' ships that must be completed before you can move on (not terribly lengthy, but required) to the next...whatever...but as a Romulan captain, there ARE no trophy displays available - unless I missed a memo somewhere.
So, my questions are as follows: with all the fantastically arranged new content, dialogue, and depth of story that was done for the Romulan and Klingon factions up to the "featured" series level, but even then, the updated content poured into THOSE missions, why are these things still present, when they actually provide no tangible rewards? And, if they are going to be kept, are players playing Romulan/Reman characters going to be able to place trophies and receive those little extra rewards at some point? If not, players new to the game are going to feel they are being cheated or that their systems are bugged, which, Devs, are going to start a cascade of bug reports to fill the threads for a long time to come.
Definitely not a troll, and I LOVE the new content, but I am wondering if this stuff has just been overlooked or, again, whether this just hasn't been caught up to yet, and is something we can look forward to in future (though I am sure will require the redundancy of replay for established characters)?
Anyone else noticed this, or anyone who can set me straight on things that actually are present, but that I may have simply overlooked?

i think the reman boff at least can be traded to fed/kdf via the exchange or to an alt thats not part of the RR. so if said Reman BO's net a decent amount on the Exchange you can at least get some kind of tangible reward out of it, even if its not directly.
It might not be possible for them to change shared factional rewards so that only romulans get something different.

Yep; definitely see your point, though the Reman BOff is, if you need another one, a pretty decent reward in and of itself. I hadn't thought about the benefit of trade or sale on the Exchange, though, which could bring a worthwhile reward.
However, I guess my point is, with all of the re-works of dialogue, mission parameters, and so on in the featured series for Romulan players they already labored to take on, why were these aspects left out, especially when they actually, at least at this point in time, do nothing for the player (e.g., getting the floor trophy from Obisek that Rom/Rem players can't use because they have no ability to place trophies)? Again, it seems to be either overlooked, or left in to "prep" for later content. In the former case, my hope is that they'll catch up and remove it; in the latter, that the Devs might post somewhere that "those rewards are not available...(pause for dramatic effect) yet!"
Because, like I mentioned above, new players are bound to think something is broken. With all of the truly extant bugs that need to be addressed, the Devs could save themselves a lot of headaches from bug reports by eliminating any "ghost" bugs...

1) The Reman science boff is a good reward, regardless of the fact that you might have other Remans aboard your ship. I agree that some costume customizability would be nice, but then again, I've always thought that.
2) I don't think it's a stretch to think that one of Obisek's people contacted the Romulan Republic and asked them to assign him to your crew, which is why the reward "comes from" your Romulan contact. Inelegant, but effective.
3) I do wish the Romulan ship interior supported trophies.
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.

He is just as good as any purple BOFF, in fact, even less for a rom because he can't be customized. Which is pretty low for a FE reward.
I had some laugh playing the Romulan FE as a Romulan, some dialogues were remade for it, and it's fine, but many of them didn't. The whole discussions with Obisek are ridiculous, mostly because he treat you as a fed/kdf.
It was quite obvious those FE needed a special treatment considering the new faction. The only time I was really pleased was with the death of Hakeev, which was redone for Romulan.

^^^This is a fair point. Still, it would be nice, if we are going to have to endure the dialogue, that it would bear this point out. It just seems like, with all the other effort to update the storyline, these brief lines would have been either an easy fix to adjust for this, or could have been omitted.
But, ye know, if you and I ran the world...

It should be possible, but it would require some time and effort. Since this type of thing is not likely to be a priority (and assuming they are aware of this error in the first place), I don't believe they would assign resources to fix this in the short or mid term.
I know this post is old but in case you haven't noticed yet, Romulans DO get trophies. They are automatically placed in your captains quarters and your ready room. The painting you find on Virinat, the helmet you find on Virinat (you can also wear it, btw), the sword you find on New Romulas all only appear on your ship after you've done the missions. I can't remember if the Obisek one does or not. I do agree that it's a shame that we can't arrange them ourselves, though.
Devros, I know you have a thing about coming back from the dead off and on regardless of how many times your own creations the Daleks kill you, but please don't bring your necromancy to the forums.
Its worth pointing out that the Reman boff from this mission is one of the few guaranteed ways to get Transfer Shield Strength III. Even if you don't use it right now, its worth having tucked away, just in case.
