Romulan vs Klingon playstyle?

So after playing Romulans up to 18 (I know not a thorough look) I feel like I enjoy the Klingon ships a bit better.
The Romulans seem to have better cloaking, less speed, less turn rate, but a bit more beef to their hulls. I could be way off but that's the way it seems to me. What do you guys think?
As a player who enjoys hit and run tactics I feel the Klingon ships fit me better, the Romulans feel a bit like playing a U-boat captain.
