I don't know how difficult a change this would be so I won't claim it is simple or easy.
On Eyefinity, the character select, character creation, and tailor screens stretch all the way across the three monitors. This makes it a little difficult to use the interfaces. On the character select screen your ship is always mostly cut off the top of the screen. On the tailor screen the options stretch all across the left screen and it is a pain to see which option you're selecting.
My suggestion, and this is where I'm not sure how difficult the change would be, would be to switch the UI scaling from horizontal to vertical. If the aspect ratio is set for most of the elements (It seems to be for the away team and ship on the character select screen) it would allow all the elements to display on the middle screen. This would make it easier to see your characters, use the tailor, and create new characters on an Eyefinity or SLI system.
I wouldn't say this is "Essential", but it would be a nice change to see for those of us who play the game across 3 monitors.
well the game dowsnt support 3 monitors. if you want to play across monitors you have to have at least 4 and the monitors in a square formation to work. my suggestion would have to be play only on 1 monitor or in that square formation.
Actually the game plays just fine in a 3 wide format for the most part. You can see here if you don't believe me. It simply requires that your system be setup using Eyefinity or SLI to merge all 3 monitors into one desktop. The only problem areas are the ones I described.
I'm running an EVGA Nvidia GTX 680 FTW and was wondering if I should try hooking up my other two monitors... can anyone confirm that multi monitor in STO only works in AMDs Eyefinity or you have to have an SLI setup?

The space part of that video was cool, but the ground part gave me a headache.

Whatever resolution your SLI supports should work with STO. The game automatically detects your desktop resolution and aspect ratio so it doesn't really matter whether it's SLI or Eyefinity. The only requirement is that the three monitors MUST be merged into one desktop via the software. This is why I specifically said multi-monitor, because this issue plagues both setups.
I've been running three monitors for a month or so, and I've just learned to get along with the poor menu layout. Don't try to run three portrait orientation monitors though. I tried that this morning, and I can barely see my character in the tailor/character creator. STO looks great across three monitors, but I wish the menus didn't just have a fixed scale. I'd love proper support for multi-monitors.
