It's not so annoying for me.. but what I don't get is the communication:
Hi Captains,
We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, May 30th, for scheduled network maintenance. We are planning to conduct this maintenance at 6AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) and expect it to last for 3.5 hours. The test server may also be unavailable during this time.
As we're only conducting network maintenance, there are no patch notes.
Thanks for your patience and understanding,
- The Star Trek Online Team
Okay.. fine. No patch notes.. so why am I being patched? If you're making infrastructure changes, how does that affect my client? I can see maybe changing server addresses or something.. but 135MB seems a bit large for that.

Possibilities:
- Crazy stuff going on in the linker
- Non-diff based patching
- New network stack (although it's a stretch to think they would try a new library every 3 days)
