Hello guys. I started playing as a romulan, and i am science officer. My goal is to play drain/crowd control type of player, which could recloak, put all my abilities like slow drain etc.,destroy it with weapons and vanish. I am now playing ( lv 15 now ) with 2 dual beams and torpedo front, and 1 turret in the back... I read sto wiki, and i would use gravity well 3, tachyon beam, tractor beams, trctor beam repulsor to be usefull in STF. My problem is what layout of weapons is good. I really like 2 dual beams and torpedo in front, especially with high yield, which really help me put down my enemy faster. Also i have no idea which duty officers would be good for me, so any help is really helpfull. Thnx in front

It is Escorts Online dude ... science ships need not apply ;)

Okay, that was a joke. As far as I know the tetryon build with glider from rep grind is one way to go. Not sure about the details.

i thought that antiproton dual heavy cannons would be fine. that high crit build sound the best for fast attacks, drain etc. So u dont use torpedo launchers ?? Also i thought to use abilities as energy syphon, tachion beam, gravity well 3,tractor beam...I have failed optional in stf for far too much time becouse no science ships were available, and no1 slowed nanite cubes, or waves in cure found..

You don't need to slow nanite spheres or anything as you can just pew pew blasto your way through much quicker and easier, as macronius said: It is Escorts Online dude. I know he was joking but there's more than a grain of truth in it.

I wouldn't bother with gravity well now unless you heavily spec into it as spheres and a lot of NPCs have Emergency to Engines 3 (EPtE3) and just fly out of it. By heavily spec I mean have 4 +30 grav gen consoles and max grav gens. Cost vs benefit might not be worth it though. Those that don't have EPtE3 move too slow in STF to be a concern or to warrant the use of GW.

Tractor beam with a tractor beam doff that drains shields when you use it will be useful as it will lock down targets and drain shields. Tykens rift and energy syphon will be great on big bosses and if you get the leech console it will only help you more in shutting them down. VM is alright but on a boss or borg is not so hot, they clear it in seconds which is completely unfair.

Get a gravimetric doff from your allied faction that spawns extra tykens and you'll be laughing at all the AoE drain. As someone also said if you want more drain go for dual heavy or dual cannons and tet glider which is 2 piece omega space set. Tetryon or polaron weapons will also add to the drain, I personally think polaron is the better but tets are cheaper.

Before someone pounces on the Dual Heavy Cannons are better than Dual Cannons thing, yes they are BUT if tetryon glider is applied per shot not per cycle you will get twice as many shots with Dual Cannons over Dual Heavies, proc rates for the innate weapon characteristic (shield drain with tets, power drain with polarons) should be the same between the two.

It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.
A master with a stone is better than a novice with a sword.

Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.

i lost optional in all space STF-s, becouse we couldn control weaves of enemies, so i thought that some cc control would really help my team...
