Cloaking, bridge officers, and my ship interior

I'm rather confused as to why I have to drop my cloak when a guy sitting on the bridge next to me is yelling information in my ear. We come up on a location, and suddenly my cloak drops and Tovan Khev shows up on the viewscreen in spite of the fact that he's on the bridge with me, just so he can tell me that we need to be stealthy.

Then again, perhaps it has something to do with the fact that people apparently think I'm not actually commanding from the bridge. After all, if I go back to the tactical view while standing in front of my command chair, I'm transported to some other location so I can do what one would assume I would be doing while sitting in the chair away from which I just transported.

Unless I'm actually commanding from inside a pod buried deep inside the bowels of the ship (and how crazy would that be?!) it seems a bit of a palaver just to move me three feet the my rear.

What you're talking about is an old bug (that is actually not a bug), but rather a discrepancy in the game mechanic and the way the code is written that allows all interactions (like your Boffs comunicating with you) to decloak the ship. The devs. have reported to be working on it, but according to them it's a long and rocky road because for this glitch to be completely defeated it requires them to go through every single mission that could involve cloaking and re-write the code, or sht. like that, I'm no expert on the subject.

If you play as Romulan, you'll be happy to know that this issue is much less present due to the Romulans being a new faction and percausions that the devs. have taken for this not to happen in most od their stories.
It's an old hurt on the Klingon side present for a long time, but with LoR they've started fixing it for the red side as well.

And the beaming out when you go to tactical screen to command your ship it's just a silly thing. :P
