Romulan doff problems

Several problems for the Romulan DOFFs:
-A bug : the "reassign underperforming DOFF" mission is broken for the Romulan, at least for a fed-Rom. I can only use civilians for the mission, nothing else.
Same for "exchange officers".
No matter the rarity.

-While KDF/Fed have access to 3races specific DOFF recruitment missions, the Romulan doesn't. They just have the usual science DOFF, tac DOFF...
->Can we have Romulan + Reman + ally (KDF or fed) recruitment missions ? Or 2 Romulan +1 Reman ?

-A Romulan can do the DOFF recruitment mission from his ally. Which makes a lot more DOFF than any other faction, and it can be exploited by many (fleet starbase, exchange...).
->Remove access, see point 2 above, Romulan would still have access to some limited allied DOFF.

-Using the recruitement officer to trade DOFFs for a higher quality always reward allied DOFF, and not Romulan DOFF. No matter the NPC you use for the mission.
->The allied NPC should reward allied DOFFs, and the New Romulus officer/console should reward RR DOFFs.

On a side note, not related to DOFF, but there are no lore questions on New Romulus, a Romulan need to go to his allied faction for it.

I ran in to the same problem today.

    Agreed,

    Feedback: Romulan DOFF Bugs/Improvements

1.) Cannot Exchange Officers except civilians. But also, when you do you only get your Ally's Doffs, not Romulan ones. Kinda stinks, I would like to do DOFF missions and have ROMULANS come up for it not allys, but the "pool" of Romulan Doffs is quite small at the moment. I agree there should be a "Romulan Recruiter" and a "Reman Recruiter" - I would even forego having access to the "Ally" recruiters (and Doff officers for that matter) -

2.) This continues into the Doff's you get to choose after completing a tier - got "Diplomacy" and got to pick a green Doff - and it was the Fed selection - so no Romulan/Reman selection - kind of a bummer, and I couldn't buy any for Dilithium - just the one I picked for the achievement, I assume this is a BUG.

3.) There is no "Security Officer" on duty for the Romulans, so I can't turn in contraband without going to the ally's Starbase, could you please station one at the "New Romulus Command Center" - it would help those of us who want to keep as Romulan as possible.

4.) (And this one really gets me) Why, when we are rebuilding our people, am I transporting Federation (or KDF) colonists around??? Please, start rewarding Romulan/Reman Colonists, this might bug me more than anything (even though from a gameplay standpoint it doesn't really matter I guess - but from a "feel's like it's own faction" standpoint, it makes no sense at all).

    Thank you for your consideration.

    This would be very helpful.

And since there are non romulan colonists mentioned, what of refugees? Are there actually any 'Romulan sanctuary/asylum/...' doff assignements available for them?
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

That's also a good point. AFAIK there are NO asylum missions for RR races.

NOTE to Borticus: this would be great to add as an unlock to the Romulan rep system. But only for non-RR players.

Duty Officer Recruitment doesn't work for me after the first time. I can still go into "Submit Request for Personnel", but I was only able to run and complete the Tactical, Engineering, Science and Civilian recruiting missions once; now they're permanently greyed out. Annoyed, I went to Starfleet Academy to at least fill some holes in my roster. Having completed THOSE assignments (including the racial cultural exchanges), all of THEM are now greyed out, as well. At this point, my only apparent solution is to throw real money at the problem... and frankly, I'll p*** on your servers before I get railroaded into that.

I acquired the initial round on the 24th at New Rom Command. The Academy groups was the 26th. Neither shows any kind of cooldown and frankly, unless this was changed, I remember doing these recruiting drives on earlier characters about one per day, back when DOffs were first added.

The tac/eng/sci/civ take like two days to complete and have at least another two days of CD after completion, but I believe it's more.

Well, just checked the wiki, it says CD of 4 days. So look tomorrow, you should see them at New Rom Command.

Yeah, when Doffs were first added, branch recruiting only had a CD of 24 hrs..... but back then EVERYTHING had a CD of 24h. It was actually possible to completely deplete the mission list if you logged several times and did everything you saw in that zone... It's harder now but still possible.

On a more amusing note, my Rommie DOffs recently completed the Confiscate Contraband assignment, and one of the items they got was... wait for it... Romulan ale. So now Romulan ale is illegal even for the Romulans themselves?

(And that's not even the funniest thing about LoR. Now we're also treated to the sight of loot drops materializing right on top of collapsing singularities when Romulan ships are destroyed. That's right, JJ-verse Vulcan couldn't survive a singularity, but those @#$% lockboxes apparently can. I guess that makes them the STO equivalent of post-nuclear cockroaches. :P )

I have tried the first one yet... so i can't comment on that.

On the second point... yeah I can. I was really hoping for a Romluan DOFF pack to be released with LoR, something inline with what was available for the Fed and KDF. Was a little disappointed that it wasn't there.

Then, when I got my Rom character to level 11 and unlocked the DOFF system, I noticed the Duty Office in the command center, sells ally DOFFs. Why?

As a RR character, I would really prefer to have a Rom based crew.

Also, it seems rather dull that the only two DOFF species are Romulan and Reman.

But, I am hoping for the future. The May Ask Cryptic, a question was brought up about Rom DOFFs and Dan said they were in the works.

So, keeping my fingers crossed... ;)

The Romulan "compactor" currently requires the inputs to be either civilians or BEKKs. Bekk is a KDF rank. If you're allied with the KDF, you can stuff klingons in the compactor to fill the requirement.

I don't know about KDF, but for FED, civilian is not a rank, but a type of officers. You can only use bartender, trader... for the mission, no engineer, tac, security...
And the reward is not a Romulan DOFF, but an allied DOFF. No matter if you use the RR NPC for the mission, or not.

Which mean, ATM, it's better to use your allied recruitement officer to trade DOFF, as the reward is the same, and the RR one is broken.

Well, yes and no. Look at the ranks that Civilian branch doffs have. As far as I know, all civilian branch doffs have civilian as a rank as well. Well, this is true in the english version. I'm not sure about other languages.

trouble with romy doffs is that you can only trade romulan civilians at the command center and the academy won't take your Romulans or Remans. so your pretty much stuck with non civilian doffs until you unlock some other ways to get rid of them.

    It's been fixed on tribble:

    upgrinder:
    http://i.imgur.com/3YXtgcw.jpg

    downgrinder:
    http://i.imgur.com/yZIJlyw.jpg

The only problem is still the input and the results.

    Romulan Command grinder:

possible input: Romulan Reman Officers & Civilians, Allied Civilians
possible output: Romulan Reman Officers & Civilians, Allied Officers & Civilians

That means you're going to be stuck with a large portion of Allied Doffs if you're going to be using the console at Romulan Command, which in turn can only be further up- or downgrinded at SFA. I played around with the downgrinder a bit, and out of 192 doffs 105 were Romulan/Reman and 87 Allied. If you want to turn a very rare Romulan into commons for the starbase, you'll probably end up with 1 allied rare and 2 allied greens.

It would be nice and way more convenient for people, if those two systems were either combined (enabling people to turn in Romulan officers at SFA and Allied officers at Command) or completely seperating them (disabling Allied officers as a result at Command)
