Dem skill confusion.

I was using Dem 2 on my Warbird and was told by a player in a stf that Dem does not effect cannons only beam weapons, I then went to sto wiki and the skill didn't say either way, was hoping someone in the player community could give me a answer if Dem works with cannons. ty in advance.

    Directed energy modulation, the engineering ability, affects all energy weapons. It adds a small amount of shield-penetrating damage to each hit which means it works better with cannons (especially with Rapid Fire) but it affects beams just fine.

    Somebody is probably confused by the Directed Energy Distribution Manifold tactical console, which only affects beams.
