Experimental Warp Core Upgrade Mission

Quick question regarding this DOFF assignment.

Is this mission restricted to a certain space sector like the Children's Toys line being in the DS9 sector cluster, or is it randomly generating across the entire game map?

I got it on one of my KDF toons at DS9, but have yet to get it on my FED main. I was curious if anybody knew since I am currently going all over the map in search of it which happens to drive me bats.

*EDIT* Never mind, not 5 minutes after I posted the above and I got the mission in Klingon space.

I think it can spawn anyplace, even though i haven't seen it in BU yet, but have got it in Pi Canis and most other sectors so far.

It doesn't strike me as an assignment that would be sector-driven. I most often find those sorts of assignments by going directly to the Engineering department head tab. Happy hunting!

I heard about it on the STOKED podcast last week. According to them, it is a mission that is suppose to be available on your ship from a Duty Officer. Most likely the Engineering Department. i have gone through all the missions available on my ship in Engineering, OPS, even Science and I can't find it anywhere. At the time of the podcast LOR wasn't live yet so it could be something that is only on Tribble or bugged.

If anyone could help and please clarify this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

I've read somewhere that it should be a mission called "experimental warp core upgrade" project under Engineering Officer.

It's randomly available, much like all of the other Experimental Upgrade missions.

That's good to know for sure. Thank you for clarifying :)

Yeah, got this the other day. Got a Purple warp core out of it, too!

... too bad it was on my level 16 Romulan character, so it's only a Mark IV and he can't use it. :P Hopefully someone on the Exchange really, really wants an early Warp Core...

It is available in any sector. Check your Engineering Department Head. Just keep changing sectors until you find it. You'll eventually get it, minus the cooldown of 24 hours.

You'll also see Upgrades for Consoles, Shields, Deflectors etc...but not all at once

I've seen 3 or 4 experimental upgrades pop up at the same time.

    Um, am I missing something?

There are four assignment slots. The first two are Engineering requirement, with a bonus for the officer being a Matter-Antimatter specialist. This part is fine.

HOWEVER, the second two slots require a *science* officer, BUT the bonus in these slots is *also* "Matter-Antimatter Specialist.'

As far as I know, the Matter-Antimatter Specialist job only exists in Engineering, so it is impossible to meet the requirements for better results. Shouldn't the second two slots be "Warp Theorist" instead??
