I am tempted to say that my purchase of the odyssey pack is the most idiotiic thing I ever did. But I shan't, as that does have a rather good use as a (rather expensive) digital stress-ball (Claim package from C-store, find in inventory, Discard).

But no, the most idiotic thing I have ever done was in kerrat. I somehow managed to miss the fact that it was a pvp zone and proceeded to chastise people who attacked me for using what I saw as a bug to troll, rather than complete the mission objectives and take on the borg.
Of course, I did that in zone chat. Many expletives were used and many "N00b" bombs were unleashed.

Now, if there were a threat titled "What was the most stupid thing you ever did?" I would be able to give a rather extensive list :D
    I need a beer.

Most stupid thing i ever did in sto? Buying a lifetime subscription and then having my main character get stuck in loading screen limbo for 5 days.

Stupidest thing i've done? Breaking STFs (by destroying the gate first and ignoring transformers and generators, or destroying cubes in cure without destroying the healing nanites) and watching puggers jaw drop.
    Rejoice JJ Trek people....

    Why are you not rejoicing?

The stupidest thing I have done was not actually IN GAME but it was still STO related lol.

I was watching someone play on Youtube with full screen and I desperately wanted to see something that had just gone past his ship so I clicked on the screen to try to pan the camera... Of course it stopped the playback because it was Youtube NOT STO. I think that sort of is a hint you have been playing too long.

Let's take a break from complaining about others and let this thread exist in the spirit of some light self-mockery

What do you consider the most stupid thing you ever did in this game, something that really made you want to bite your own TRIBBLE but which actually lets you laugh once the first moments of frustration passed?

Um, where do I begin?

I was moving a lockbox ship from my inventory to the bank so I could give it to another one of my toons. I really shouldn't have double clicked...

    +1 Been there. Felt great...

Also, left Starbase without an engine. And yes, I did warp out to Sector Space...before I realized.

I've done that too. Felt pretty stupid afterward. :P

The dumbest thing I've done in STO: deleting the only character on which I had achieved T5 on Romulan Reputation.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

When the game first launched, let me begin, the tutorial was really basic and didn't go into anything advanced.

So, I played this game like any other Trek, use whatever ship you wanted and delete whatever ship you wanted. This was when ship's were cheap too.

So, my TAC character played with the Stargazer-class then Luna-class for the longest time until I got to my Prometheus-class, this was when I figured out with help of the forums about the differences. I played that ship til f2p, the longest I ever stayed on one ship. I missed that ship. I crafted the Delta Flyer four times and sold it, but I forgot to keep one myself, not spending money on that thing. I deleted both an Excelsior and Nebula back when it cost 150k ec (or so) to get them.

I accidentally deleted my mkXIII tholian cryo-launcher and I accidentally selected the mkxii reman deflector dish twice. So instead of finally finishing the Romulan Rep, nope I have to gather materials for the last one.

Buying the Collectors Edition from Atari, anywhere else I would've got a Extra Store Bonus.

Yea, from back when we paid just to install the game.

Created a female Fed toon. Based her appearance and personality on an old flame from very long ago. Then, tried to introduce the wife to playing STO. Everything was great until she insisted on looking at all of my toons. Her cruelly harsh, mocking laughter will haunt me to my grave.

Ooooooouuuuuuuch. I think you win.

When I saw a Ne'Vagh at level 7 , I left the mission. I had nothing to do. And stopped playing STO for a week. (back in the time you had to subscribe -season 3-) I then decided I could try a VA character to help. You see, thought the game was closely related to Trek, thus, a Ne'Vagh would be stupid to try and defeat in a miranda class. To this day ... I wish newbies do not have to battle battleships, because it [sarcasm] slightly [/sarcasm] destroys an essence of how realistic this game is ...
Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.

    I hope STO get's better ...

When the first Mirror ships turned up I wanted one, I had no idea the exchange was broke at the time so I searched for a mirror ship in the All tab and saw them for 80 million EC, there was only about 10 showing at the time so I pooled all my credits together from all my characters and bought one. Then a day later I saw someone mention the exchange was broke and that you have to use the tabs down the side.... so I found the reward pack tab........ 500k at the time for the same ship........

I was angry at the time at cryptic for not fixing something like that.... angry at the person that I thought exploited that bug in some way to trick people that didn't know the exchange was bugged.......

Then I just laughed... its only EC after all, still an expensive mistake.
How I picture a lot of the forumites :P
