Ship Damage Resistance Calculator

I created a spreadsheet to calculate the Damage Resistance on your ship based on your mix of armor consoles, along with the additional Damage Resistance you can get from accolades, skill points, and a variety of abilities and items. This can help you choose the best combination of armor consoles and other resistance sources for your ship.

Link: http://bit.ly/STOShipDamageResistance

This is a Google Spreadsheet, so you will need to make your own copy to use it.

Enjoy!
:)

Changes
V1.5.1
  • If multiple levels of the same ability are selected as active but only one is able to be active at a time, only the highest level ability is added to the calculations. This does not include Hazard Emitters since your teammates can use their copies on you too.
  • This optimization was recommended by phayezr. Thanks.

V1.5
  • Large revamp in preparation for the Delta Rising expansion.
  • Added values for upgraded armors through Epic Mk XIV. Precision of the values was increased.
  • Upgrading some armors out of their formerly limited mark range might change their name. It is probably a display bug.
  • Changed terminology to match game info (damage resistance rating [DRR] and damage bonus resistance rating [DBRR]).
  • Formula now considers sources of DBRR such as T2 reputation traits and the Ablative Generator.

V1.4
  • Apparently I had this version, but somehow lost the notes.

V1.3
  • Major change to provide much more information.
  • Added a whole bunch of abilities that affect damage resistance.
  • Added chart to visually depict how each component and ability contributes to your damage resistance.
  • Added Diminishing Returns Chart to visually depict the diminishing returns.

V1.2
  • Added Ultra Rare (Fleet) Armor and RCS consoles.
  • Added Nukara T4 passive bonus.

V1.1
  • Quick fix to add the other two skills that increase Damage Resistance.
  • Added Jem'Hadar Resilient Shield to the mix for increased accuracy.

V1.0 - Initial Damage Resistance Calculator
  • All current armor consoles from Mk I to Mk XII are included.

Version 1.2 is now available. I've added bonuses from the Nukara reputation and the new consoles from the Fleet Dilithium Mine.

It's all at the same link: http://bit.ly/STOShipDamageResistance

Well i wish i had seen this before i started making one myself yesterday. Looks good dude.

Dyson T2 and T4 need to be included.

Dyson T2 rep Advanced Hull Reinforcement: According to the Dev Gorngonzolla the T2 passive does not follow the diminishing returns curve. I have not tested this myself. I would guess that it does in fact follow the DR curve. But confirmation would be nice.

    Dyson T4 rep Active Hull Hardening: I tested this myself and it's 0-50 resist and not 0-75 resist. Confirmation from another source would be nice. The resist starts at 99% btw. I used this for my calculations;

    =((1-(H/100))*50)*N

    Where H=hull % as a whole number ie 50
Where N=1 for yes or 0 for no in answer to, do you have this T4 passive

OK Dyson T2 rep does follow the DR curve. However this applied after you get your Resist%. Not only that but it also calculates how much you gain based on that Resist%.

You first get the resist % and do as follows.

    =(1-(P/100)

Where P=Resist % prior to the T2 passive

You then add the curve to this and it would like like this.

    =(3*((0.25-(75/(150+(1-(P/100))*(5*L)))^2)))*100

Where L=1 for yes or 0 for no in answer to, do you have this T2 passive

There may be other skills or abilities which behave this way. Accolades do not. Which is odd as that's listed as a %. Looking at your spreadsheet your Exocomp seems to be behaving strangely. It does not behave oddly for me. It's treated as 10 resist the same as a console would be. I don't believe any values are rounded up as you say. I do believe that 42.5 resist consoles are actually 42.4 resist. Here's what my spreadsheet looks like. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgEhF6YV_JYQdE1RWjNhSU5EaHhvRHJ2RmVQV0Y2SUE&usp=sharing#gid=0

I made an error in my previous post in regards to the Dyson T2 passive. The error was causing it to be off by 0.1% at low resist percentages. It should instead be as follows.

    (3*(.25-((75/(150+(5*L)))^2)))*(1-(P/100))*100

Note where i moved 1-(P/100) to.

It's also possible that they are using 75 resist for Dyson T4. But if so i haven't figured out the math they used for it. And so far my math appears to work. I've a feeling they're applying this after the first % numbers like they did for the T2 passive. But so far their math escapes me.

The link in my previous post has the corrected calcs for the T2 resist passive.

Hello Belgrave, I wanted to let you know of one of the things i noticed. You can have multiple ranks of certain abilities, as well as have all 3 profession specific abilities active. I will send you a pm with a link to a calc i created based on yours. You have my word, i merely am using this spreadsheet personally, and am not distributing it. It shall only be seen between you, me, and whoever has looked at it over my shoulder in my house. I will send you the link in a pm.

    with respect,

Sorry, i cant pm u. here is the link.

PLEASE don't get mad, like i said, it is for personal use. I merely copied it over to another document, so that I could have yours as a reference as to what I wanted to modify.
Yes, I have used the armor pages from your sheet, simply because it was easier than making my own. i apologize.

Also, I eliminated the ones that you were unsure about. Those confused me, so yeah.

Specifically, look at the career specific abilites, the top of the page, and the code for the boxes that are associated.

Interesting. The first thing I wonder is what version of my spreadsheet you based that on. Mine is up to V1.5, with updates to the formula to allow things like Ablative Generator and some of the changes to reputation traits in the past year or so. When I get a chance, I'll pick through your changes, and see what I can apply to my spreadsheet. Thanks.
    :)

I took the main spreadsheet from 1.4, but i downloaded the 1.5 armor charts, simply because it is easier than having to download the whole new spreadsheet, and COMPLETELY change my current one. However, i am working on incorporating dbrr, but that prob wont be for a while. Once i get that in, would you let me give it to my fleet for their use? I promise, i merely am trying to improve your design to where it is virtually congruent with the actual game. Keep in mind, though, i am 17, so i have to deal with high school and friends, as well as webmaster for the robotics team, so i have my hands FULL.:( anyway, yes, that is the case. Also, i am planning to make a column with the resistance from just the dbrr. I havent looked at your 1.5 yet that much, so yeah, you may already have it. But if you dont, ill add it in mine.

    keep them coming, man

    phayezer@phayezr

ps, also, look at the aux power at the top. I unified them all into one box, to keep it all the same.

Yay, third try at remembering stuff.
also, i managed to eliminate the components sheet, as well as the calulation sheet.
if you respond with your email, i can give edit privs, so you can copy paste, put in comments in what i should do, whatever you want, so long as you dont ruin it. I will use revision history liberally, in that case.

All I've done is provide a tool. If you need to adjust your copy to fit your needs, feel free.
