SCI/SCI Build Question

igorvalentineigorvalentine Member Posts: 0 Arc User
Hey! So I have been pouring over the sci pvp builds. I only pve, I'm just looking for builds mostly. I noticed that most builds don't take Starship Armor Reinforcements and very little if at all Starship Hull Plating.

Are they not worth taking? Or maybe they are more beneficial in pve and I should put them into my pve build?

I'm looking for insight! Please share yours. :)

Always take armor reinforcements unless you want to be one-shot'd by High Yield BorgTorps.

Plating's more debatable, but I always take it.

I put 3 in each because ... why not? They are both Resistances and having anything in them is worth something.

Cool! Thanks for the help peeps!

I have another question if anyone wants to chime in.

How well does Jam Sensors work? I was thinking of trying a weird Jam Sensors/Viral Matrix build. I would run a copy each of Jam Sensors 2 & 3, that would allow me to put out a lot of damage without the npc being able to do anything against me. I could follow up with a Viral Matrix 3 to shut down the npc after that.

I would also get the duty officer that allows more damage for Jam Sensors and get a viral matrix duty officer as well.

Will this be viable for pve?

I would also keep an Energy Siphon 2 handy to match with target subsystems.

Also, I would use phased polaron weapons as it synergizes well with drains and viral matrix.

It receives marginal (if any) benefit from AUX power - I cannot confirm this myself but comes from the sticky in this forum.

What I can confirm from my experience with JS is that it helps thin the herd or gives you some respite in PvE. You know, JS the target and either focus fire on the bigger guy or pop Evasive Manuvers for some healing room then jump back in the fight.

At the same time, you seem to have a plan and I can't say it won't work. I recommend you give it a try for about 10 missions/patrols. As obvious as this will read, if the plan works then keep it and have fun. If not, make changes and roll that way. I din't think to combo with VM, so try it out and post back here with your thoughts.

Who knows, maybe it'll be a great tactic? :)

Everything is "viable" for PvE, its a matter of what you like and how you use it.
