Ground Traits

-- Situational Awareness

Ground Trait. The trait causes all of your Grenade powers to expose their targets for up to 7 seconds.
*All your grenade powers now expose their targets, in addition to their normal effects.

-- Medical vanguard

Ground Trait. This trait enhances all of your Buffs and heals to harden their target's shields, preventing any damage from bleeding through the shields and hitting the target. They also provide a moderate shield heal to the target, ensuring that their hardened shields can adequately protect them.
Enhances specific powers
* 6.3 Shield Regeneration
* Reduces Damage to Shields by 50% for 4 sec
* Grants Perfect Shields for 4 seconds. Perfect Shields have no bleed through.

So what is the point of engineers on ground? Its bad enough that they are completely useless from an optimisation standpoint in space, but now this?

Looks like there's still no tactical trait that will put a handful of turrets on the ground and no science trait that will short out an opponents weapon. What, exactly, are you angry about?

(And, I'm sorry, no point to engineers in space? We must be playing a different game)

I can only assume you have never played any ground stfs. And probably no space stfs, either.

Edit: Actually, there is a small chance youre not just trolling and you actually dont know.

The best group composition for any space stf or similar mission is.... 5 tacs in escorts. Anything else, while the stf will still easily be finishable, and the optional almost certainly attainable, is sub-optimal. The only exception to this is No Win scenario.

It used to be that ground went better the more utility you had. And engineers were great at that; quantum mortars, turrets, generators, fuse armour, weapon malfunctions, bombs, shield heals, weapon buffs, you name it. Now, it doesnt matter at all. Why take extra time TRIBBLE around setting up turrets or placing explosives when you can be constantly exploiting entire packs of enemies and chain-killing them with the Synchronized Proton Distortion Rifle (or whatever the ghostbuster gun was called)?

Especially when all it takes is a sci running with them with triage making them nearly invulnerable juggernauts.

Yay!! Way to go starting a totally useless fight.
    - Always shows what an elite player you are if you tell other people they are plain stupid because they have a different opinion. Great way of discussing things.

But i guess that was intended by the first post already.

Im using all character classes. tac, sci, eng.
STO doesnt need any brains so u can play everything as a tac just fine.
    or as a engi..
    or as a sci.

Hell u can make all STFs as a team of 5 of the same class, totally doesnt matter.
