Question on Bridge Officers

Hi:

How do you decide if you want to replace a bridge officer? I've used one candidate to train a skill I wanted, but other than that I don't see a reason to replace one.

Also, is there any harm in letting them sit in the queue and not using them to replace or train? Do they go away after some time?

I'm thinking if I let them sit there, I can add one when I get a bigger ship with more Bridge Officer stations, is that the right strategy?

Thanks.

Some bridge officers have rare traits that maybe helpful to your build. Others switch out boffs for RP purposes.

But otherwise, you are right, there is no issue in keeping your same boffs you got when leveling up. Neither is there an issue about keeping candidates for extended periods.

Actually, there is one issue concerning the BO queue... Its capped at 12 candidates, and if its full, you can't accept any more BOs...

They just go into your inventory when it's full, but you need to make a space for them if you want to commission it.

Higher quality ones have better traits (similar to getting better grade gear), so it's worth considering changing them out if you get better grade ones than you have. You could even replace the ones you have with higher-grade "clones" if you liked.
