Weird Patching

I searched but could not find anyone else with this problem.

Every time I play the game it goes through a very quick patching process, about 20 seconds, no problem. But if I leave the launcher open after closing the game, when I some back it is in the midst of a very slow patch process. After an hour it was at 6%. My bandwidth is about 16mbps so that is not the problem.

If I close the launcher and open it again I can play like normal. Should I let it finish this "patch"? I suppose I could let it run overnight if necessary. Anyone know what this is? The game seems to play fine, although load screens between areas are sometime long.

Thanks....Satcher

My guess is that a bunch of file manifests have to be overwritten so that the game is playable, only to have to re-write those manifests with the prepatch information after you close it. Presumably so that the launcher knows that at LoR's release time, to check the prepatch folder and use the stuff there, without actually loading that content in the game prior to LoR being released.

You can pretty well tell in the transfers window (ctrl-x in the launcher) that it's not having to download any new/updated game content, so all you're likely downloading (both before and after playing) are file checksums.

I've gone through 3 fcking patchings with the huge patch of 5.8ish! It gets to different stages, then the client vanish, and when i start it again, its dling a 3 mb file, then when exiting the game, it starts AGAIN on the 5.8, gets to a point, vanishes...

From looks of it, this new system is going to help us install the new expansion

It's the pre-patching, but the way it is going i think it will still be a massive update despite having the tribble files stored.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I used the change character and after 10 minutes (yes 10 minutes ) its still at a black screen download at half of dial up speed.

    Patching 2 files 0,1kb/s *facepalm*

EDIT : invalid logic creditentials *major facepalm*

EDIT2: if someone has the same problems use US proxy. It wont remove the lag spikes but it will log in :)
