This is not a bug, Marauding and diplomacy BOffs are intended to be exchange BOffs, they are supposed to wear only their faction's uniform. This keeps them inline with canon. What they fixed was being able to edit your initial Rommie BOffs when you play your Rommie toon.

sorry but these days a i just giggle when people say "canon". We have aliens as part of the Romulan faction, Feds flying Jem Hadar ships using disruptors and plasma torps, Doff rosters of nothing but enemy alien species.... i dont think canon is really of concern for the Devs at this point.

    Thats the point..
They are not wearing starfleet uniform.

Their default costume is a basic shirt/trouser combination from the 'Off Duty' tab,
Plus their body/facial features are also uncustomizable,.. at all

Then an homage to the Riker/Kurn episodes.

The Marauding and Diplomacy boffs aren't "Exchange" officers, they're defectors. The Klingons and the Federation are at WAR. There are no Officer Exchanges. As such, they SHOULD be able to wear the uniforms of their new side, but that's a different issue.

The Fed Diplomacy boff is fully customizable....the KDF Marauding boff is a clone that cannot be changed even though the options are all there.

you can customize fed orions and we should be able to customize the kdf fed boffs. You cant be stucked with a stupid ugly uniform just because the sky is blue. You can have a orion in skimpy outfit in your fed crew so you should be able to have a fed boff in a fed uniform in your kdf crew.

It's a game engine bug, actually. The reason you can't customize the Federation Renegades is because they are coded to use off-duty uniforms (i.e., civilian clothes or mercenary outfit). Unfortunately, the tailor contains code that prevents BOFFs from using any uniform type except for "Uniform." This creates a logic loop that prevents the system from committing any changes you make to the Renegade.

Cryptic has actually been taking baby steps towards fixing this, such putting the Romulan off-duty uniforms in the "uniform" category and adding the Mercenary 03 belt to the "Uniform" parts list.

Devs, if you are reading, please please please please write a script to go through the database and add ALL of the Off Duty, Formal Wear, and STF Armor parts to the "Uniform" class. Don't change the unlock criteria or anything, just merge them into the "Uniform" group. This will fix so many problems with the current tailor and further enhance the superb customization experience that's a major selling point of your game.

It's really a bit silly there are all these different costume groups in the first place. It doesn't add anything to the game whatsoever and creates complications, like this.

I think they do it because of concerns about clipping issues. However most of the uniforms have clipping issues anyway. So Cryptic, just let us determine if the uniform still looks good despite clipping
