Gorn Reptilian Strength gone? And some other trait ideas...

First - a paste of my original post in a thread where it maybe didn't belong:

Disclaimer: I don't have any Gorn characters on the game (as opposed to test) servers. Probably never will either.

Just a Star Trek 'world' issue: in my opinion (and knowledge of the Star Trek 'world'), all Gorn classes (Tac, Sci, Eng) should have 'reptilian strength' as an optional trait - or have it included as a part of the Gorn 'racial' possibly (I have no idea if *all* Gorn were big and strong, especially when compared to humans, but I know a significant # of them were when you're counting the military forces). I just created a Gorn Sci Officer and could not find the trait anywhere.

Being big and scaly and strong is just what the Gorn are. No?

==========

If Reptilian Strength has been accidentally omitted, cool. Otherwise, right now they would be the weakest of the KDF races in melee combat. Doesn't make sense, add up, etc.

Also - re: Gorn and any other 'military' race (the ones who could pick 'Soldier' in STO prior to Romulus expansion - I know the Feds had at least one race in this category as well) - all 'classes' for the Gorn (and any applicable on the Fed side) should be able to select 'Soldier' in my opinion. Not just Tac Os.

Plasma Specialist is cool with the Romulans. Maybe consider Phaser specialist for most of the Fed races (I'm 90% KDF playing time, so not trying to pick one side over the other), Disruptor Specialist for Klingon only (Klingons didn't arm all KDF allied races, unlike the Phaser being standard issue across the Federation) and maybe Plasma Specialist for Gorn as well.

Everything I've seen looks real nice. Don't know what was done with the graphics but at same resolution and detail settings Romulus looks a lot sharper than STO.

All Gorn have this trait, but the extra strength is not displaying properly. Currently under investigation
    Was named Trek17.

Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

yeah, new trait system seems unfinished and/or broken

for one: you can have three different descriptions for same trait, depending where you view it, like plasma weap spec - in general menu it says +20% plasma dmg, in my char it says +10% and otherwise +15%...

racial traits are at a mess, well it's certenly still beta

Gorn Toughness (phys / plasma fire dmg resist) is there, along with Endurance, and Bite is now built in. Reptilian strength seems to be left out.

Also I don't like how the way it selects your non-race-specific traits based on your class. I want to make those choices, not be pigeonholed into some predefined build.

I really don't like telekinesis on my 1/2-Rom Alien Sci.

Any alien made has a free respec token from the beginning.

Bite is NOT built in. I had to choose it as one of my trait slots when I respecced my Gorn Engineer.

Also, when a really big Gorn wields a bat'leth, it's too tiny -- he can't even hold it with two hands due to the spacing of the shoulders/hands, but he still does the two-handed bat'leth stance. Looks really goofy. Can we get a Gorn one-handed weapon or somethin'? :D

don't have to be really big, it's a an old glitch, seen not only on gorn, but gorn mainly

plus one-handed attacks... yeah even klingons use it that way, seen it in some episode, but can't remember which, generally I'd like to see some improvements on melee combat system, especially in movement and chain attacks against multiple opponents

It is in the character generator on tribble.

true, but when you re-spec you may choose not to take it, but since bite works good now I can't see why drop it
all this species needs is it's revised reptilian strength back... and bat'leth holding corrections
