My First Overall Impression.

So far I'm extremely happy with the Beta test. The game HUD is beautiful compared to the old one. I was using the Federation outlay. I have a cheap HP Probook laptop and despite this the ground missions while looking great felt so fluid and more life like. Even space combat felt more fluid and less choppy.

I love that we can now Respec our traits, this will add an added customization bonus to the game. The ships look great and the cloaking works even while in combat despite the game voice telling you it doesn't in the walk through. On a side note the tutorial voice over that sounds like the TNG computer is actually the same voice actress that does the Nancy Drew mystery video games...don't ask how I know that lol.

Overall I love the new look and overall feel of the game. I love the intro to the Romulun story makes it feel more epic. The voice overs are all great too and I love the new look when you hail someone or talk to them they appear like they're actually talking through a ship's main viewer screen.

I just hope they don't make the ships overly powerful and leave the Fed ones in the dark...I still love my odyssey. Well that's my two cents review. Hope it helped some.

PS. I did not encounter any glitches in my two hours of gameplay other than some voices and sounds being overlapped on each other making it difficult to hear what they were saying. I think when a character is speaking all other sounds should be lowered automatically. Alright that's all I got. Take care.

I love the look of the new interface. Gameplay is a little choppy, but not debilitatingly so. So far, this has been a really enjoyable experience. Keep up the good work:)

Interesting you say that it was choppy. The game did lag a bit the first time I was in space with the new ship but that was just because my computer is TRIBBLE and that area was visually rich. However, I felt the ground mission pretty nice in controls. I guess it all depends on computer build I guess.

Either way I am looking forward to the new HUD colors and having colors in the abilities panel.

Still a little iffy on the new UI. I really loved the Rom ship interiors till I got to Engineering. For a moment I thought I my tiny BOP was equipped with a Omega 13 device!

New look on char creation... Very impressive. Easier to choose features, and awesome options of customizations... Congratulations.:cool:

I played through until you get to your first ship customization token.

I didn't have any bugs or quirks in the game until I was invited to my friend's Romulan ship bridge.

And the only bug/weird thing there was in the Captain's room. The aquarium has a plant that partially sticks out through the front glass, so it moves when you walk by it.

For an hour of playing through, that's actually pretty good!

Yes I believe that was a server bug. My queue was also doing that too but I logged on normally on the number I originally was given.

yeah i'm enjoying the change from the closed beta to the open beta with the vo's added too plus so far the typos seem to be sorted but its annoying that my char was wiped out
