Atrox 2 Tac Teams vs Tac Team and APBeta

I just got a new toon to 50 and I'm planning on decking a Atrox Carrier out with a Caitian Engineer. I've got my general set up planned out, but have some basic questions regarding the limitation of a Lt. Tactical seat. I see a lot of people with 2 Tac Teams and this is a great tanking set up if you have the matching EptS and other heals for a support/tank roll. I've also seen an alternate set up with 1 Tac Team and an Attack Pattern Beta 1 and was wondering if this was worth it, does for example my Pet fire paint targets with APB for example. I initially wanted to do Beam Fire at Will and Attack Pattern Beta to paint targets for my fighters, especially with my planned path to gear out in top level Romulan Rep gear and the Elite Scorpion HYT.

If you use APB, it is only applied by whatever attacks your ship makes, not your hangar units.

Regarding the Atrox's extremely limited Lt TAC station, some simple options off the top of my head.

TT1/TT2 - As you described, great for tanking due to the auto adjusting of the shields at a faster rate than normal shield distribution.

FAW1/APB1 - As you suggested, for clearing out trash NPCs while still applying the resist debuff of APB. Keep in mind, if you intend to PVP, APB is easily cleared by targets applying TT, which remove that debuff as long as TT is up. APB is a great PVE tool though, or against a PVP target that isn't setup right, but most in PVP have at least 1 TT, oftenly with 2 cycling. A nice benefit of APB though is that it has a pretty short cooldown.

FAW1/APD1 - This is a far more defensive route. APD increases your resists, and applies a debuff that is repeatedly applied to anyone that keeps attacking whoever has APD applied onto them. Very good for alot of situations where you are the one repeatedly getting shot at. And since you're a carrier, in PVP, you WILL get shot at alot, guaranteed. In PVE, APD will give you some resist breathing room as well as adding a debuff to anyone attacking you. The other beauty of APD is that it can be applied to an ally in need.

TT1/APD1 or APB1 - TT boosts Attack Patterns, as well as the fancy shield auto adjust.

The Atrox really isn't an offensive machine. With the Lt TAC station and a mere 2 TAC Consoles, you're not going to do much in terms of raw damage. However, with judicious use of things like APB and APD, you can do some supportive actions. APB/APD will inflict some nice debuffs and benefit whoever is attacking those targets.
