All romulan starships so far are Warbirds, but different classes of Warbird have different setups with varying degrees of affinity towards tac/eng/sci.

If Romulans want a true 'engineering' focused ship, and heavier warbirds aren't available yet or don't scratch that itch, they can requisition cruisers or battlecruisers from their allies.
Take a look at my Foundry missions!

The D'Deridex retro refit and T5 free ship *forget its name* seem to both be T5 Engineering ships. The Dhalen and Mogai ships tend to look escort to me and T'liss and original warbird i think are science, sadly the only free one is Engineering so if you don't want that you need to either buy a ship (or pack) or be 600 day vet.

The D'deridex and the Ha'apax and their Refits/Retrofits/Fleet versions are primarily Battle Cruiser-type Engineering ships. How much Engineering is currently up for adjustment. The T'liss is only a T1 ship, so it has a balanced layout like the Miranda. One of the to-be-announced Warbirds that's visible on Tribble is a "Support Warbird" that currently uses the model of the Ha'apax's main body (the Ha'apax's C-Store variant has a Multi-Vector mode) and is the only Warbird with a Science Commander seat, other than possibly one of the Mirror Warbirds also teased on Tribble.

All other Warbirds on Tribble are Tactical-oriented ships with various layouts for the Retrofit/Fleet Retrofit versions.

There is a T'Liss refit, it's a science though. Sorry my bad. I meant the T'Varo retro refits as well but at least in tribble there is a T'liss T5 and it was basically a science. It maybe called something else can't remember but it very much looks just like one.
