You're a Romulan until level 10... then you get to become a slave of either the Federation or Klingons.

And by slave, this person means you create an alliance with that faction. You can join their fleets, use their starbase/embassy, visit their Home HUB (QoNoS for KDF, ESD for FED).

You can use all but their Vice Admiral-level (I think) ships and equipment, including STF-Gear and the like. You can only ally with Romulans that allied with your ally, so that's a downer.

You can't use any ally ship higher than T4.

Can Romulans join a Fed/KDF fleet? Well, if you're allied with them, then...

And it's not like there was much of a choice, it's either the ally fleet or no fleet. :D

They have their own missions from 1-40, at 35-50 begins the episodes we have that are not related to the specific sides story. What I mean is, the episodes and missions that universal for both the fed and kdf can be played by the Romulans/Remans. The only missions you cannot do, are the story related ones specific to either side.

With that said though, the Fed or Klingon missions in the early stages are just for them, much like the Romulan/Reman missions are only for them, Feds and Klingons cannot do those.

So you still get missions 1-50 and then some from my calculations.

YES , LoR is only new content & playable species for kdf/fed,it is not about Romulan Faction!
LoR should to be about rebuilding Romulan Star Empire, liberating Donatra from borg collective ,confronting Sela & madness of Tal Shiar, claiming Vulcan as new romulan homeworld...
