I don't think the Sovereign was ever intended to have saucer separation.
There's also not much left to go by in terms of ship classes. We already have cruisers and carriers, escorts effectively serve as destroyers and science vessels tend to fall somewhere in the middle being akin to either corvettes or light cruisers.
The larger cruiser class ships such as the galaxy, sovereign and odyssey are essentially battleships or dreadnaughts in terms of size and function.

Yes it was, the original designs for the Sovereign Class starship was designed to have a saucer seperation ability.
*Me*Why don't you just step away from the weapons console. You and I both know that you couldn't hit that cube, even if it was right in front of us. *Junior Tactical Officer* But sir the cube IS right in front of us. *Me* EXACTLY! Its right in front of us and you still missed it! Just step away from the console.

John Eaves drafted up design sketches for Sovereign saucer sep (which were then published in Star Trek: The Magazine several months after Nemesis), but none of the TNG films featuring the 1701-E called for it, nor was the physical model set up for it (to be fair, neither were the two or four foot Galaxy models).
Either have a new class or have it so that the Assualt Cruiser have saucer sep. I'm looking for some new ship classes and once I find some I will post the links

Hmm. Weird to me then. Cause saucer sep exists in-game. And the assault cruiser exists in-game. Seems like the easy peasy solution is to ask for the assault cruiser to get saucer sep.
New class of ship is a whole other can of worms. And also, would be really strange to have an assault cruiser, and a totally different class of ship that looks just like one but can separate, especially since two cruisers already can separate (the galaxy and the odyssey) and one more is having sep worked on (the Galaxy-X).
I'm just want voice my opinions. To me I think have another ship with saucer sep would be fine. Either that or bring in the Perception Class that i posted a link to. Either way it would be nice to see a new ship

I think I understand my confusion better. I was thinking ship class in terms of this game. You were using it more in the Star Trek terms.
I thought you were asking for a new class, as in ... not a cruiser, not an escort, not a science vessel, not a carrier. Like make a Sovereign look-alike that's a brand new classification.
When you just meant a new ship class, like galaxy class, sovereign class, constitution class, etc.

Regent should have had saucer sep. then the stupid stuff it does have. And the Sov can do it.

I'm not disputing the Sovereign's concept of having separation. At all. The OP's request for the Sovereign to get sep is actually the easier solution to me than creating a new cruiser. Especially in light of comments Geko made about how poorly the Reagent sold.
What the Reagent got, though, was 1 for 2 on ok stuff (the 180 degree torp is ok). And the metreon gas thing is kind of lame but tied directly to a movie featuring the Sovereign, so yeah it's lame but it's right there on the screen.
If they gave it saucer sep too, hey ok cool. I'm not arguing against it. And I was confused by what the OP meant about the word class, but am straight on that now.

agreed. And the Regent skin is a BAD skin. as is the Regent is over priced
Part of the reason the Regent didn't sell was the fact a lot of people wanted the same skin / hull pattern they saw in nemesis, not a complete redesign. Some also felt cheated about not getting a actual sovereign bridge. At least that was a lot of the comments that I saw anyway. I am sure there were other reasons. Personally though, I was somewhat satisfied with what we got... I just use the old Sovy skin on it.
what do you all think. Should I try and see if they can give the Sov Separation capabilities
Certainly doesn't hurt to ask. Especially since they're working on getting saucer sep for the Galaxy X. And they've run into technical difficulties, so it's taking them a lot longer than expected. This may seem like a bad time to ask, but it's actually a good time. You can try and get sovvie sep piggybacked onto that galaxy X sep. It just might work.
I'm not arguing against giving the Assault Cruiser Saucer Separation, however...
Keep in mind that they would need to touch up the ship models for all 5 versions of it to include geo for the separated version. That would mean they'd have to update the saucer and hull, at least (10 models minimum). They'd have to include the tech for saucer separation, create the pet for the class, and determine what stats the console would give when separated. In addition, they'd also need to attach weapon hard points to the new model for the engineering hull in separated mode. This would also have to work with the Mirror Science Cruiser, Assault Cruiser, Assault Cruiser Retrofit, and Fleet Assault Cruiser Retrofit.
In other words, there's a lot of work to do, and what would Cryptic get out of it ?
Don't misunderstand, I'd love to see it, but I just don't think its very likely to happen
So what are we going to start giving every cruiser saucer sep? If other ships start getting it then I would want to see the Nebula getting it too, might as well give it to the Excelsior since there was several mentions of it having Saucer Sep.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

Nebula with Saucer Separation, I could see that as a crash landing deal, maybe more like jettisoning the rest of the hull. Only since you bring the nebula up, I would like to see options for other pod choices. The Luna, Nebula, Vor'cha and some other ships have various pod selections. How about a 500 zen unlock additional pod type that works for KDF or Fed Ships. 360 degree torp launcher, or a hanger bay, or heavy turret (damage of a cannon with a 360 range) or something along those lines.
The pod is account unlock per effect, universal console, with a visual skin for each ship with a hull pod option. Just an idea.
As for saucer seperation, how about the MV doing partial separations?
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

I'm confused. You're asking for a saucer sep ability for the assault cruiser? How's that calling for a new class of ship?
