LOR 237 playable ships

Rivera just tweeted thats how many ships the game will have when LOR releases. Can someone do the math and figure out how many ships there are that we don't know about?

If anything that's /got/ to be combinations of parts. It can't possibly mean distinct ship classes.

Pulling from STOwiki and dev blog 9, the distinct designations:

Fed: 91
KDF: 66
Rom: 22
Cross: 11

This gives a total of 190. Another 35 (at least, might be missing some Klingon side) if you count visual variants that aren't connected to a separate class for a total of 225. That leaves 12 unknown, we've been told Klingons are getting C-store ships to cover their lower levels and a type-8 shuttle equivalent, that should account for 5 more, for 230.

This leaves 7 unaccounted for.

Another lockbox could account for a shuttle, a big prize ship, a lobi ship, and possibly a mirror ship per faction. There's at least 3 and possibly up to 6 right there, maybe even 7 if they continue the pattern of giving feds two mirror ships.

Other possibilities for that 7:
Unconfirmed C-store ship (like the Scimitar)
Romulan 1000 day ship (they said it's coming but not at launch)
Another per-faction lockbox ship like the timeships
Visual variants I didn't count (I'm 60% sure I missed 1, possibly 2, which would bring the 7 down to 6 or 5, in range to be closed by a lockbox).

Thats amazing, and highly indicative of good things to come. Thanks a bunch man, maybe we could start gambling on what those ships could be?

You're forgetting the possibility of that Scimitar likely could be a 3-ship pack like the Odyssey, Bortasque, and Vesta.

Another possibility is Romulans getting a Romulan D7 (not a Klingon D7).

With new Klingon ships, so far we have confirmed the B'Broth (B'Rel +1 starter ship) and the Kivra (old Toron), and Geko mentioned on some of his interviews (one being Priority one) that there is a Negh'var varient coming.

I can see the Scimitar getting a 3 ship pack but I'm not sure about the Romulan D7. What would the difference be? If I remember it was white in the TOS remaster and that was about it. Other than that everything would depend on what you loaded it with, except for maybe giving it a Romulan Battle Cloak.

At some point in my counting I'd accounted for the 2 Klingon ships we know are coming, but I dropped them before posting... Not sure how I lost those

There's also the hinted possibility of Quldun, Somra, and K'tanco refits, for a total of 5 new ships. And retrofits/fleet retrofits could add another 3 or 6 ships right there (total of 8 to 11). That plus a lockbox and a couple unannounced Romulan ships could bring us in range of having 237 without needing to count visual variants.

Difference could be as simple as a tier 5/fleet version available to Romulans and/or any version available to Fed-aligned Romulans. They'd have access to the tier 3 version if they're KDF aligned, but not the tier 5 versions from the starbase.

To be fair, Rivera may be double-counting the lockbox ships [as they are technically two different ships, one for each faction].

How many unique ships are there? Means excluding fleet refits/reskins etc and retrofits. Think that's an interesting question to ask?

This would account for 11 more, 22 if you count them tripple for Romulans as well. This leaves the total way short of 237, though, and it falls into a range where I can't kludge it close enough to the number - counting visual variants would put it way over, but without counting them it stretches belief that nearly 20 ships are unaccounted for.

Battle Cloak, Singularity Core, different BOFF layout that's between the D7 and the Kamarag.
