Using allied BOFF instead of Romulan as generic BOFF

In STO, as you may know, if no BOFF are available for a conversation, the game will use randomly generated BOFF of your faction.
For example, if you are on the ground with your away team, and have a conversation with your "space tactical officer", while having all your tac officer with you on the ground, the game will randomly create a tac boff to talk to you.

If you are Romulan, this randomly generated BOFF is from your allied faction, and not a Romulan (IE, a Klingon, Human,...). Don't know if the problem also happen with Fed allied Romulan, but it definitely happen with KDF Romulan.
It's kind of weird to have a Nausicaan telling me to come back, because I have enemy ship inbound.

I think it should be changed to use a Romulan Republic BOFF, Reman, Romulan, or hybrid, but not an allied.

I just got one that was Romulan.... Only he was listed as Ensign and not SubLt

On my KDF romulan, so far, I had 2Nausicaan, 1orion, 1alien, 1klingon.

so far only not romulan boff I got was after I did the join the feds mission after and before that only got romulan or reman

I was talking about conversation randomly generated BOFF, not mission reward.
The one you talk to, that are supposed to be on the ship, but not part of your BOFF.

I think it's a game mechanic, the easy way round it is to have a number of set boffs from space that are different from your standard away team.

Obviously that won't work for most but I don't think it would be that unusual as you'd think that crew exchanges would happen as part of an alliance.

I fly a Romulan ship, with no KDF BOFF. No KDF NPC aboard the ship either. No KDF DOFF.
So, where those nausicaan came from ?

It would be like having a random romulan boff speaking to a fed player, even if it can happen since the alliance.

It seems to affect only the KDF romulan, as I don't remember this problem with my fed romulan.

i have had contact with a vulcan offcier at times on fed. when she moves slightly in the coversation ya can see she has a red uniform. one of the ones from fed that have dark shoulder area with color starting lower. thoughtt she was rom for a while til noticed the red. on kdf char i get klingon alot. i would much prefer rom officers cause i'm not interested in letting kdf/fed spys around the rom cloak or sigularity core.

You don't carry a contingent of Nausicaan shocktroopers to use as cannon fod..eh, to use in certain tactically challenging situations?:o


Aside from that workaround, the devs should do everything they can to make the Romulans appear as close to a separate faction as they can, even though they are not truly their own separate faction. I'd really like to be able to play with a romulan-exclusive crew and not see random alien redshirts beam down with me, get stuck with non-romulan doff rewards or get contacted from my own ship by non-romulans.

KDF aboard MY ship ? Meh, I don't want the smell !
