Thanks again all for the inputs. I did end up geting the AC...but I went back to the Oddy (with a new wide angle torpedo). As I get used to the slow turn rate I find it actually can be quiet a power house. Loaded it up with seven anti-proton MkXII beams and just shreads through things. Unless I get too much in over my head I have great survivability. I am going to see if I can find a good/nice guild to contribut to and maybe look at a Fleet Excelsior down the road...at least till LoR where I may get suduced by the Mogi.

Give it some time. When I first got the AC-R, I went back to the Ody, too, but some time afterwards I took a liking to the AC-R and haven't looked back much on my tac.

Here is a thread that explains the build that makes the Fleet Assault Cruiser into what amounts to an unstoppable force of nature. You can do a slightly dumbed-down version of that build in an Odyssey, and there's a valid variant of it for the Fleet Advanced Heavy Cruiser, but it's what makes the Assault Cruiser king right now.

Check it out, set it up and try it if you can, and let us know what you think :)

I have the Odyssey and I hate it, the inertia rating on that thing blows. I do a lot of 3 point turns so I find it very frustrating to use.

I dunno, after flying the Ody awhile I have gotten pretty good with it. One way I have found to tunr quick (a VERY relative term for theOdyssey) is to fly at max speed then throw it in to reverse as I turn. Half way around shift back to forward and turn the desired direction. Works well for turning in a tighter arc. Still takes a bit though. Really hoping that with LoR we have better turning on cruisers.
