In-game Fleet recruitment board proposal.

It's a pretty commonly known fact that only a small percentage of the playerbase actually use the forums or for that matter any source outside of the game itself. While there is a section in the forums for fleet recruitment, oftentimes the best choice is to actually post a recruitment message in the actual zone chat. There really isn't a concrete in-game method for actively recruiting fleets to really standout, and this is where my idea comes into play.

Starfleet Academy is very under utilized other than for the very beginning of the game and a few events. My proposal is to add a "message board" in the SFA map where players could go to the board and it would bring up a list of actively recruiting fleets. Simple information such as Fleet name, member size, Fleet base rank, and owner/recruiter contact information is really all that would need to be listed. After 30 days a fleets recruitment information would automatically be removed for the board and the fleet would have to "reapply", as this would be a simple solution to keeping the information as up to date as possible.

Another possible location for this board could also be the right hand section of Admiral Quinn's office on ESD.

Ideally there would also be an option to sort by fleet size as well.

And this would result in anything different from the current fleet advertising how? You've got a system in place through the social and fleet windows to search for fleets that want to recruit people.

I actually like OP idea but maybe give a option to send a e-mail as I could never find away of contacting a fleet via the traditional way and was recruited for my KDF fleet here and my Fed character at ESD

This guy is onto something. Who here looks through the current fleet adverts and notice that they pretty much state stuff they don't do making searching for a fleet a joke? Also has the bonus of segregating Fed/KDF fleet adverts.

I think the OPs idea would help.

I would suggest cryptic hold some kind of "fleet recruitment day" where any fleet can sign up. basically a fleet would sign up for an in game location, time, fleet size, and members attending the event. Maybe some larger fleets could even sign up together to allow more space for smaller fleets. Then everyone could be mailed say an invitation padd that has all of the information on fleets that signed up.

People could search through the padds info for a fleet they find interesting and then go and talk to the attending members and possibly get invited.

In some of my former fleets we would set a time and place and would just hang out near the ESD transporter, DS9, or drozna. this unusual gathering of people usually attracts attention and we recruited many good members this way.
