Unable to Create ROM character

When I go to create a ROM character on tribble the race is ghosted out. People are flying about with ROM ships so it must be enabled. This and Klingons are blacked out.

I tried deleting a character to free up space, but its still the same.

Anyone help?

    ou have to have gotten a test invite to make a rom toon

    Yeah someone else mentioned that in another thread. So p*ssed by the favoritism there. I might as well stop making bug reports, it doesn't seem to make any difference.

    Posting about this was pointless because it was not a bug. Also it is not favoritism, they want people who have used tribble in more recent months since the UI was upgraded to the new LoR version. There are other factors in the selection as well. No reason to get p*ssed.

    It was not pointless as I had no idea it wasn't a bug until the post.

    I can log in as a FED character and use the new UI perfectly well. Its just creation of a new character that is blocked. I would have hoped that they would at least give beta access to the Legacy Pack holders (me) and/or those that had been in the CBT (me) and/or give regular feedback on bugs (me). Admittedly I haven't used Tribble since the Rep System was being tested, but it doesn't mean I won't be any help.

    I only wanted to help.

    And get a sneak preview of the content.

    Cryptic's loss I suppose. Hohumm...

    Oh please, you only wanted a sneak preview of the content. If you wanted to help, you'd fly the Feds and keep testing out the Warp Core drives, the new Tholian content and equipment, and the new trait system. There is so much to test out outside of the Romulan content it's not even funny.

    So stop acting the martyr and go test the other new content. If not, that right there is the reason you didn't get the closed beta invite, and it's probably not Cryptics loss.

    i agree with this post, i've tested on tribble since Crossfire....i feel like i've earned my testing of the Romulans

    It is not random choosing of ppl who have ever done it, it is a combination of things, and the following are just very likely selection criteria.

    If i were asked to select testers for the upcomming expansion i would look for players that :
    1 - have played on tribble recently (2013),
    2 - have an active forum account,
    3 - have submitted bugs thru the ingame bugreporting

    I suspect the above shortlist is easy to obtain from backend systems, and would provide a list of active testers, who also know how to report issues they encounter during testing.

    These criteria play no favoritism whatsoever to account, subscription, age, personality.

    I have heard of more ppl who are "testing since pre-launch beta" who did not get selected for the closed LoR beta, and all these that i know of, have failed selection criteria #1
