The Cloak - I heard you!

Why is it that people can hear me buffing up under my cloak? I have wondered this many times, and I have seen people talk about it, but I never got an answer.

Is it a bug? If so, can it be fixed? Is it working as intended?

If it is a bug, I haven't heard any discussion or talk of fixing it, unless I missed it. If it is "working as intended", why can people hear me buffing up? I'm supposed to be undetectable! Many an alpha strike have been ruined because someone popped TT and EPtS right as they heard me going in to hit them.

Any information on this would be much appreciated.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

It's not a bug, it's there for balancing reasons. You just need to learn to either buff at a distance or use other sounds to cover your buffing.

All the cloak does is redirect light, not muffle sound ^.^
A better question is why they can hear you at all... ever. Are you keeping a hail open on your target so they can hear you commanding your bridge officers or what?

Yes, because sound carries so well in Space.

That's funny, I never saw in any instance in any Star Trek TV episodes or movies, that cloaked warships were all the sudden detectable once they did any preparations for an attack

File this under "Idiotic," just like the decloaking bug when any of your ship's crew says a whisper, sneezes, or farts.

General Chang in Undiscovered Country was transmitting to the Enterprise, gloating, taunting to Kirk, and never once did his cloaks drop.

Wait, that's it! Try giving your orders in the form of Shakespearian quotations.
