Need Skill Help Engineer Flying Escort

I need help improving the skills of my VA engineer. I like to fly a Mirror Patrol escort now so I can do more damage.

Duty Officers:
Energy Weapons Officer - (uncommon) - reduces cannon special attack recharge time
Projectile Weapons Officer - (uncommon) - reduces torpedo recharge time
Warp Core Engineer (very rare) - increase emergency power
Damage Control Engineer (rare) - reduce emergency power recharge time
Damage Control Engineer (rare) - reduce emergency power recharge time

    Any advice on the Captain skill points to make them more effective?

    How does Nadeon Inversion keep weapons power up?

    The weapons battery is mainly for when the Tholians knock my ship's weapons offline.

    Anymore suggestions for my captain skills? I don't understand them that well and the system forces me to pick skills that I don't necessarily want in order to get access to the next skill rank.

    You can dump more skill points into lower ranks. They still count towards unlocking the next tier.

    should be everything in there, boff skills, captain skills, ship equipment.
    granted, this is a kdf engineer, but there's not much of a difference
