Engineer with covert trait

My Romulan engineer character has a non-changeable trait called covert - I'm not aware of any ground cloaking ability for engineers so is this a trait oversight ?

I'm fairly certain this trait (covert) is more for a tactical character with a stealth kit...

    My engineer started the same. You get a free initial retrait that you can use when you make level 10.
