Picture this: B rel charging in full impulse cloaked. dead set on a fed cruiser 12 o clock. being at full impulse there is a razor thin margin to release breen under 1km. too soon? you re just dumb. too late? you overshoot target. Well i have gotten pretty good at it. What i have been noticing lately is reflexes of enemies at superhuman levels. example:
perfect release at full impulse under 1km which leaves a split second for someone too see it, target it, and shoot it. what happens? the split second the breen leaves my chamber a completely different ship above me shoots it down...... i call bull. what could possibly be going on. NOBODY is that fast or aware. and there were no other enemies this haxor was targetting, so faw is out of the question.
autotarget macro? i dunno, but it smells like targ scat to me
This can happen if the "victim" (or one of his allies) is just setting his weapons to autofire without an explicit target (and allowing it to target pets/torps/mines) while he's paying attention to other things. (For example, I do this in my healboat; I just turn autofire on and then go about healing teammates. Weapons will keep firing at enemies even if I've selected an allied target.)
The exact method by which autofiring weapons choose their targets is a little bit of a mystery to me, but from my experience it tends to target things which are most "threatening" to you and are in your camera's view; if they happen to be pointing their camera in your general direction when you release the breen, the autofiring weapons will often just pick the cluster torp and shoot it down.
This may not be exactly what you've seen, but it's what I've gathered from my experience with turning on autofire without explicitly designating a target.
hmm interesting, still even if im running autofire, i dont shoot unless i have something targetted, how exactly is this working, i mean he wasnt attacking anything, its not like he blew something up than hi autofire just automatically attacked next threat. my threat was the initial one.....get me?
on my voquv im referrring too, clearly i dont use autofire on a b rel
There's a setting that allows your weapons to continue firing for as long as you're in combat, and they do this on your current target. If a target goes passive placate (or cloaks), usually this means an auto-switch target. If there are no more targets, it waits until your original target reappears, auto-retargets, and autofires again.
I waste gimmick B'rel ships all the time who try to pull the "you can't fight me you can't fight me" fail just using this setting. An andorian escort can obliterate a B'rel with a single volley without shields.
If you're not a fan of it, here's a thought: don't expect a ship that never has to fight decloaked to have no weaknesses. Actually decloak and engage in some combat.

"you waste gimmick brels" such tough guy talk from a noob who relies on a built in autotarget feature. lol. heres a thought when bragging in the future, try doing it with something more impressive sounding than a cpu run autotarget.

No sorry it didnt make all that much sense to me, guess ill read it again. lolo
I do know there is targetting pets first or something, or threatening targets first, are you talking about the breen cluster?
For whatever its worth, you can have a specific keybind that targets a single targetable weapon, /bind Space "Target Breen Cluster Torpedo" or something in that direction...
