Keep in mind that the Romulans already use that monster in STO, as ugly and angular as it is.
Also, keep in mind that the Romulans of LoR are great buddies with the Remans, so expect more Remans designs. (might explain that floppy bananna with angular wings they have shown for the tier 2)
Umm... That Floppy Banana is one of the original warbirds the ROmulans used...
Sela flies a Scimitar because the Remans became slaves tot he Romulans. (learned so via campaign)
Scimitar is still Reman, and Reman design.
Obisek flies one, as well.
And the Romulan Republic, which a Rom player will be a part of, has an alliance with the Remans. An enemy of an enemy is my friend.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
Wow no thoughts about the coming Romulan Lock-box?
Everyone I know hates those ridiculous boxes, why would you possibly want to offer suggestions as to what new ships they should contain? If they want to sell us cool ship skins,, they should put them directly in the C-store not hide them in a gambling box.
Just for those saying keep Scimitar Romulan, it's NOT a Romulan ship, it's a REMAN ship, there IS a difference.
That said, the Rom lockboxes will no doubt deploy when LoR deploys, it makes business, and marketing sense.
I'm not really sure about that. We do know the first Scimitar seen was in Nemesis and it was reffered to as a "Reman Warbird", but how would they have built it on their own? The Remans were all dilithium mining slaves before fighting the dominion war, that suggests they did not have any industry of their own. It makes more sense that after Shinzon's Reman coup they built it with already existing Romulan shipyards and Romulan workers, although Remans could have taken lead in the design.
Also since then it has been used as the flagship of Romulan leaders such as Donatra and Sela.
Even if it is soley Reman design and built, Remans are also an integral part of the Romulan faction, so it is still a Romulan faction ship whether or not it is specifically Romulan.
No, just no. Faction ships should never be in a lockbox. Lockbox should only consist of ships that make no sense for a player to have. The exception might be the Dominion and Cardassian lockbox ships, but it will be at least another year for the next faction. Any future romulan items that the devs might want to give everyone should be in the Romulan Reputation system while the rest of the Romulan ships should be C-Store ships only available characters in the Romulan mini-faction.

I thought Obisek's ship was a Mogai? Well the Zdenia (from the Romulan FE) is a Mogai if I remember correctly. I think the ship after that (for one of the Vault events) is a Bird of Prey (or T'varo or whatever they are calling it now)?
No, just no. Faction ships should never be in a lockbox.
Correction.
Faction ships should not be in a lockbox unless Cryptic is prepared to make a version for each faction in existence at the time of the lockbox's creation, ala timeships.

If you read the novels, Remans have been in military service, with their own ships, their own battalions, they were Romulan Empires Auxilla, and Shock Troops. Battles and situations Romulan's didn't want to lose their own lives to attempt, they sent in the Reman's.
Reman's, with their starships, their ground troops, etc. were the Romulan Empires version of our US Army Rangers with 160th SOAR. with command of the US Navel Ships. That is essentially what the Reman's were in the ranks of the Romulan's Imperial Navy.
THe Klingons actually used the Gorn the same way during the Dominion Wars, in an alliance soly between the Klingon High Councel and the Gorn Hedgemony.
The Reman's were/are the Elite ground troops of the Romulan Empire, for centuries. Same as being the elite in design and direct combat in space. Romulan Admirals were more willing to send Reman Fleets into the least likely to win battles, because they knew Remans would fight to the death. (Per the novels) and per the novels, the Reman's were more deadlier and brutal than the Jem'Hadar..
As far as Lore goes, Remans themselves should be a completely seperate faction of their own, but, for games sake and game lore, Remans should at least have their own line of ships. They had Dreadnoughts larger than the Romulan Warbirds. The Scimitar is similar to said dreadnoughts. They also had Flag Ships that would be equal to the Oddyssey and Bortasqu'.
And furthermore, REman's wont be released for a while.
what do people think of my speculation about the coming lock-box?
I think it's just like you said. Speculation. We will not know what the next lockbox is until they announce it, in the meantime, threads like this are beyond pointless.

It's the only acceptable way.
