Hello all I just wanted to ask your little help on this I currently have the Fleet MVAM and I have full DPS Cannons of Antiproton and its fully upgrade but what I am asking is if the HEC is better that I should change and want to know on the HEC should I have a DPS Cannons on them or full tanking mode on it because of the turn rate of it wich is really not a difference then the MVAM

Anyway tell me your suggestion if I should not and on to what I should be putting instead.

But please guys stay on this topic and don't post any bad stuff it's either you help me or say nothing.

Thank you :)

You can't really say that the Fleet Advanced Escort is better than the Heavy Escort Carrier or vice versa, they're different ships each with their own strength. The FAE gets an LtC sci slot, which can be used for a Gravity Well, while the HEC gets an LtC eng slot for tanking or healing plus a hangar. So it's more of a playstyle preference thing. I'm not sure what you mean by "full DPS cannons" but either ship, like any escort, should use Dual Heavy Cannons.

For the first part I agree but what I really meant is that will it do more damage on the FAE or the FHEC or really the FHEC is not really met for DPS but for tanking wise or something like that. I know also about the turn rate it's more harder to turn with that so it will be hard to get straight to your opponent all the time.

And what I meant for saying full DPS Cannons means that I have just cannons and turrets on my ship nothing else just concentrated on one.

Neither of these is intended as a pure DPS ship, both are hybrids that sacrifice a small portion of their DPS to pick up extra capabilities. They'll probably wind up doing about equal DPS, since the FAE gets a 5th tac console and the FHEC gets a hangar. The fleet level pure DPS ships are the Andorian ships and the Fleet Defiant, both gain an LtC tac slot relative to the ships you asked about, which can make a huge difference, also the Fleet Defiant gets a 5th tac console slot just like the FAE, and the Andorian ships get 5 fore weapon slots (don't use the Andorian ship with 5 tac consoles though, it sacrifices too much in survivability, and you won't get much use out of the extra Lt. tac boff with all cannons anyway).

I've been flying the HEC since it came out and its by far and away my favorite ship, mostly because it looks cool but also because it's so darn versatile.

I have three different weapon/equipment builds I use for different situations. What I'll call my roleplay build I do not recommend for maximum DPS and survivability but I use it for aesthetic reasons in solo PvE and some fleet actions and its a good baseline. For that build I pack a set of quad cannons, one DHC, one beam array (all phaser) with quantum torps up front, and two phaser turrets and quantum mines in back. I use the Aegis set because, again, it looks good. Even that, with 4x phaser relay consoles puts out some pretty good firepower (hitting a lot of CSV3, TS3, THY2 and BO2) and I use the TPDS console because that on top of a quantum TS3 is pure awesome. I throw on the Assimilated module for extra Crits and the Graviton pulse generator (picked up from a cross-faction console pack in a lockbox) so my targets can't run away. On top this I use Elite Scorpions mostly in escort mode so they follow me and attack my target. With this build I've never come in at less than third place in any fleet action I've ever entered.

My STF/CE build swaps the beam array for another DHC and the mines for the KCB (giving me the two-piece Omega bonus. )I use the adapted MACO set for improved survivability while stationary and a boost to torpedo damage. BO goes out for CSV1 so I have a copy of CSV up constantly with a cannon DOff. I leave the TPDS and Grav Pulse Gen at home for another neutronium console and another Field generator.

My PvP build is geared toward speedtanking and causing maximum mayhem. For this I us three DHCs up front, three turrets rear, and quantum torps, all with [acc] and [critx] modifiers. CSV3 goes out for APO3 and THY2 becomes another CSV1. I use the AEGIS set again (this time for its defense bonus) and the TPDS and the Grav Pulse come back replacing the Assim. Mod and a neutronium console.

The most important thing for me and my builds is finding something that makes me laugh every time I use it. TS3 and TPDS always does the trick. (I have them keybound with torpedoes to what I affectionately call "The Button That Makes Everybody Die.") That and CSV3 with quads and two DHCs in my STF build make this ship so perfectly hilarious in any situation.

I ran the FAE for about 6 months and I have the F-HEC for a month or so. The tactical layout is identical, the weapons are disruptor (Borg) and quantum torpedo (Borg). The best I could do with the Fleet MVAE was a little over 8k dps. With the same equipment, EPtW3 at the Lt.Cm Engi slot and elite scorpion fighters, the DPS was about 9300. After that I did some optimizations like putting 2xDEM doffs, replacing the field generators with plasma infused consoles (3x), buying a romulan plasma set (kept the quantum torpedo launcher) and upgrading the tactical consoles from mk XI blue to Mk XI purple got me to a little over 10500 DPS in ESTFs. But sometimes I really miss GW1.
That's on my science captain. Tactical one should do better.

    Tactical:
    Cmd: TT1, CSV1, TS3, CSV3
    Lt: TT1, APB1
    Ens: TS1

This is not the perfect setup, but it's the one I like the most and I stick with it. So in my case - yes, the FHEC does more damage.

This is what it looks like.

I've worked out a good build based on Photon weapons. With two Photon Torpedo Launchers, preferable ones from the Fleet Store, you can pretty much spam torpedoes along with two dual cannons and turrets (I use one Photon Mine Launcher as well, up to you), as long as you have a couple of Projectile Weapons Officers that have the Torp Recharge bonus. I love it in PvE fleet actions like the Fleet and Romulan mark missions, but I'm still trying to work out a good way to survive longer in Elite STFs. My Fleet version has better shields than any other escort I've used, and that helps so much. I use the MACO set for it, combining a bit of a tank set with the DPS of the Armitage. It's worked out well for me so far, and the Peregrines provide a bit of covering fire if you need to get out quickly.

The Akira is a Torpedo boat, guys. Use it as such! Photons sound better than Quantums anyway.
