Unusable Duty Officers?

magrothjmagrothj Member Posts: 0 Arc User
I thought this was a bit strange. Yesterday I was checking through the list of assignments and had one that needed two biologists. So I went ahead and bought two off the Exchange.

Before that the assignment said that I couldn't do it as I didn't have the Doffs for it. After that the icon for that disappeared, but the bought officers didn't appear as suggestions or in the total list. When I checked their status they were ready.

So what's the problem. Why can't I choose any of them? Is there are cooldown or something after a Doff is bought before it's possible to use them?

Its possible that you bought doff officers from the opposing faction. Klingon instead of Fed or vice versa.

Ive bought KDF on my Fed for feeding into the starbase grinder but ive never tried to use them in missions.

Look at the backdrop behind the duty officer's head. KDF and Fed DOFFs have a different backdrop.

Hmm, well that sucks in that case. I'll check this evening. Thanks for the reply though. :)

Can you do anthing with those or should I just delete them if they are indeed KDF? Well I guess I can go read one of the tutorials about that. :)

If they're of the wrong faction, you can always just list them back on the Exchange.

This isn't definitive, or at least I have a hard time picking out the different backdrops when there's blue fed, blue kdf, orange kdf, orange fed and such where only the logos are different. And those tend to be covered up by the DOFF's heads.

What works better for me is to check the DOFF's info, specifically their ranks. If it's a Fed Rank (petty officer etc.) it's Fed only, if it's a KDF rank (lieutenant, bekk etc.) it's KDF only.

Or mail them to a klingon alt, if you have one.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

Well it was a KDF doff alright. But it's not always so easy to see. Checking the rank helped though, thanks. :)

DOffs of opposite factions can be used in fleet projects without issue. At least I have done that but do not know if it will be "fixed" soon....
    Fleet Affiliations:
    FED: Royal Federation Mounted Starfleet: SB3, TAC3, ENG3, SCI3, Win, Int, DOff(T/E/S/B)
    KDF: Parliamentary Klingon Empire: SB2, TAC2, ENG2, SCI2, Win, DOff(T)

Last night I found you can use opposite faction doffs in reputation projects as well, which was a blessing! :)
