It's a well-established fact that Russian aeronautical engineers are freaking nuts.
"Hey! Lets cool our submarines nuclear reactors with liquid sodium - a substance that reacts explosively with water, which we use in the secondary coolant loop and completely surrounds our submarine!"
Sodium cooling is far more efficient that water for reactor cooling, but like any system if it isn't properly maintained it will be dangerous, incidents where sodium cooling was involved had more to do bureaucratic corner cutting and penny pinching than anything else.
"Hey, lets build a massive aircraft as guided-missile carrier, but let's make it fly really low to the ground to take advantage of ground effect, right where it can be most easily shot down, and let's give it ten engines so the enemy can hear it coming from fifty miles away!"
It's a ground effect aircraft, it's not meant to fly and as a guided missile platform it doesn't need to anywhere near audible range of it's target.
The Antonov An-225 is the worlds largest cargo aircraft in service since 1988, a second aircraft is currently under construction.
Does the Federation need a carrier, maybe not, but it would be nice if the Federation had at least one full 2 bay carrier that follows Starfleet design esthetics, The Atrox may be a Federation carrier but it does not look like a Starfleet ship.
Frankly the feel of being in Starfleet is getting seriously diluted with all of the alien designs infiltrating the lines.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
wait.....all I wanted to know was can we get a carrier a 2 bay one that looks like a fed ship.......how did we get here?
Because John Gabriel is right.
But I agree with you. I would gladly spend $25 on a 2-bay carrier that has optional frigate pets and doesn't look stupid. If they cleaned up the Typhoon model a bit it would suffice.

Good Lord, how far do you want to look, you want to compare that with some of the insane ideas thought up but British and American engineers?
