Where is my new ship?

I just got promoted to Lt. commander and got my new ship at the shipyard. When I was done selecting it, The Lt. said to go to spacedock to load it. Well I am already at spacedock. when I beam up to my ship it is the one I started with. Is there something I need to specifically do to load my new ship.

    You need to claim the new ship at requisitions then talk to the officer at the top of the stairs to ready the new ship.

    You need to requisition your ship from the i think her name is laurel you will find her at the shipyards on earth space dock.
    You should have a free ship token from admiral quinn go to the shipyard talk to laurel (Or whatever her name is) acquire your ship then go back up the stairs and speak to the officer there that will bring up the ship select menu.
    You will have to manually set your ship to Ready Starship this will set the new ship as your selected ship.
    Also later you will have to manually set your selected starships to small craft so you can use fighters or shuttles especially for the vault mission.

    Now then Psylocke your all set to go and dont press the nice shiny red button it is not a PEZ dispenser. :D

    ^^ is also correct i just went into more detail o the hows and whats of changing ships

    I have a similar problem. When I got promoted to captain I didn't get a token to requisition a new ship. I've tried asking for GM help in the game over the last few days, but no response. Is there something I can do, or am I just screwed until my next promotion?

    I also am finding that earlier on in the game on the Fed side you actually need to go to Admiral Quinn first not just accept the hail.

    There is no physical token. You aren't going to see something in your inventory or assets tab that says "lt. Commander Ship token". However, if you go to ship requistions (you should have to go there as part of the promo mission) and click on the store, the Lt. Commander ships should say they cost one token and that you have one token. If I remember correctly those are the Constitution Class, the Saber class and then Nova class. you can only have one of them though so think carefully if you want a Cruiser, Escort, or Science ship respectively.

    I do get that it's not an item in the inventory. I've had no problem getting the ships for the previous levels. This time, however, Lt. Laurel is charging me for the ship. And when I go to select which ship I want to use there is no new ship for me to choose. Since I haven't had any GM response in the game, I was hoping someone might be able to suggest something else I could try.

    Edit: I already talked to Quinn in person and have received my promotion.

    Did you talk to Admiral Quinn? I think at each level promotion where you'll get a free ship, you need to talk to the Admiral before you can go claim a ship.
    nvm didn't see the edit.
    Remember you can only claim a ship that's available at your current rank and you have to have a free slot available, go to the ship selection guy on the stairs and see if you have any free slots.
    If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.

    unless he is buying up ships like its Christmas, There shouldn't be a problem with Ship slots.

    If you are just getting your free ships as you are promoted, you should have enough slots for your free ships.

    My only other though is maybe you claimed your free ship and didn't know it. What ships do you currently have? What are ship specifically are you trying to claim?

    Well you never know, you can get a ship with Temporal Ambassador and Shuttles take up ship slots too. There aren't a lot of ship slots to start with if he's on a silver account. But like you say, he may have claimed the ship without realizing it. Either way checking with the ship selection officer would confirm if he has a new ship and or has free slots.

    That was my first thought, too. But I've only gotten the free ship at each level. Up until now it was kind of a no-brainer. I just got to captain level and wanted to claim that ship. But I still only have 3 ships. Nothing new at the captain level. So far I have the starter science ship and the two I got after that (lvl 10 and lvl 20). I'm level 32 now, but I feel I could be doing better with a new ship. Eventually I'll hit lvl 40 and it won't matter anymore. I hope.

    Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'm not 100% sure, but it appears I may have forgotten that the displayed ship doesn't update automatically when you filter the list of ships. I feel like an idiot, but I got my ship so it's all good.

    Bit of a necro but now I'm having this exact problem with a fed that just dinged 40. I spoke to Quinn in person, went to shipyard, spoke to requisitions and the misison completed but no ship token. Only options available to me are for Dilithium or Zen and I've checked every ship that's open to me. The last fed I idnged 40 and claimed her free ship was several months ago, but I had no trouble with that. There was the token as normal.
