Not I, but I plan on playing at least 2 Roms: one for each Faction. Whether or not I play more will depend on how much I enjoy the Rom content.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
If I go '100% Romulan' I will be stonewalled at level 10 when we are forced to make our choice. I'll probably miss out on a significant amount of content, episodes, etc. But if I do decide to make a Rommie character, I think I will do what I can to avoid that, but I don't think there are many options, I'm not even sure if we can level up past 10 without making the chocie.

Romulans still get their own individual storyline after you make the choice. All the choice affects is endgame content and fleets.
I'll probably ditch my Fed science officer (sorry, Bubanig) but keep the others.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
I wonder if they will add green Republic Veteran titles to the forum?

I am neither a full Federation or a Full Klingon player. The Romulans will be no different. I plan to roll a Romulan. And if they make them Playable a Hirogen too. We will see if there is any other playable species down the pike, but really I am too much a fan of various species within Star Trek to ever ditch any faction for another.

I'm already planning on playing a Fed Suliban, but if they're available for Roms I'll probably try it there instead.

According to the Priority One interview with DStahl, you *can* forgo allying with the Feds/KDF, but all of the Romulan specific story lines are locked out for you. Dan said that if you go that route, you can do the same 5 (or 10, I forget) missions you have before you hit 10.
Personally, I'd rather ally with the Feds, have access to my consoles, and fly around in my Rom ships... blowing EVERYONE out of the stars..

Yes, I remember that bit, I think it was a little unclear on if redoing those missions would allow you to increase your level past 10 though. I would certainly hope so.
Why on earth would I ditch my existing characters? I spent a lot of time on them.
Heck, I still have 4 character slots I haven't used yet.

Absolutely! Though the Romulans not becoming a true independent faction is a bitter disappointment, I still plan on returning after a looong time of not playing STO to give them a go. I just won't be spending any money on the game unless spending cash will result in my character being able to join the true Romulan Star Empire somehow, which I doubt will ever happen.:)
That said, I'm happy there will at long last be playable Romulans, even in this diminished form, and I'll definitely dump my old Federation captain for it as I always intended to play a Romulan (back in the closed beta days when we were still supposed to get a Romulan faction at or close after launch)
question for cryptic studieos. how does the devolopement team feel about waiting for romulan character having to wait to level 50 to have to choose strafleet or klingon defence force. also for player that choose not to join in either starfleet or klingon defence force. what are the possible end game content that does not require to have to choose sides in the war.

I'm hoping to have recovered my Andorian Phasers that were taken away from me by then.

To me we all part of the stf grinding faction, we all under the same roof doing the same stuff don't really matter.
In may I get some new ships and uniforms to grind stf with is all.
Speak for yourself, I haven't had a character enter an STF in over 20 months. ;P
Back to the topic tho...4 character slots open = 1 of each career for Romulans Fed side, and probably a Tac for KDF side.

Aid in leading the Romulan Star Empire back to its former greatness.
Join the Romulan Praetorian Guard and teach those epohh loving hippies what it means to be a true Romulan!
Nope, I have 4 Feds, 4 KDF and now I'll have 4 Roms. Two will join Fed and 2 KDF.
Moved on to semi-better things. >.<
