Quietly, probably with a verry sharp knife between the ribs. Like a true romulan.
As a time traveller, Am I supposed to pack underwear or underwhen?

I understand the reasoning behind the alliance-ing. Pulling a true 3way faction battle game would be a pain. Plus, that would further dilute the player population per side. Some KDF already complain about long queue times... imagine further division.

i too understand that it is needed to have the missions and FE's made for 2 factions and not 16. it makes perfectly sense. Also the DOFFing. But not the fleet system.

We already have cross faction endgame content, there are only a few FAs which are still faction specific (big dig, breaking the planet, minefield)

i just don't buy the Cryptic's "we wanna save your money and resources you would have to put into new starbases"

for me it was a timing issue = they haven't got the models ready.

the problem is, people will be more pissed off when they introduce Romulan fleet holdings in September, as many Romulan fleets have already started working on their (fill allegiance here) starbases now in april.

so i suppose the best way to go would be:
1 - announce IF and WHEN there are going to be Romulan only Fleets and Fleet holdings (one model, only Romulans of the same allegiance allowed),

    or

2 - announce there are NOT going to be Romulan only fleets ever and instead provide "redesign" projects for both sides, so an existing fleet which decides to go Romulan can change the appearance of their holdings.
This can be done by special Dillithium projects (200k).

The downside is they will have to remodel for BOTH sides, and also all the special projects.

What I would of offered for the faction from start.

    - varied types of ships to cover all classes (sci/tac/eng)
    - fleet starbases so that people could create their own unique romulan fleet, which would also contain romulan elite ground/space weapons not to menion fleet based romulan ships.
    - special stf ground/space set (which could be coming)

Now for the leveling progress.. "story" based. I would have it go this way. You start off as a citizen. You wouldnt be attached to eather the Romulan Empire (RSE) or the new "division" of the romulan people, Republic Romulans. And at some point you would eather have the option of joining the RSE or the Republic. Obviously it would be almost like in tor a "darkside/lightside" selection.

If you joined the RSE you would have the option to fight with your own RSE romulans, maybe a different selection of ships compared to the Republic. And in PVP circumstances you would be the third group in the fight, that would be fighting both the federation and klngon empires.

Now for the Republic side of things, it would go with the current setup we have coming. You have have the option of joining eather the KDF and Fed sides.

Both Romulan sides would have unique missions obviously. So pretty much thats how I would of done it.
