Don't listen to these beam fodder......ummmm.....seasoned PvPers.....
BO needs an ACC bonus...all ranks of them. Matter of fact, it could use a bonus +125% accuracy. At the moment, it is so worthless that NO ONE even uses it. It has become a running joke on the few no ones who still use it that they will NEVER be of any use to anyone in a PvP match, and that the team would rather have a danube than a person using BO. Give BO some love!!!
/turns to his bridge officers and addresses the tactical station...
Yeah, I think they bought it. That's all they need to do is make you guys even more vicious. Just give it time, and we will blast EVERYONE to dust 100% of the time!! Wait...what? Huh?

/shoots the communications officer for not being able to read minds.
Deadpool have you tried both BO2 and BO3 and compared it, or do you just use BO2? Could be why you aren't running into acc problems with it.
Beam Overload 3 & 2
Despite what has been stated about how BO works, I make most of my hits at 1/4 impulse or in reverse. I really think that YOUR ships speed also effects the chance of BO hitting. No, I don't have numbers or run data to back it up, but I do have the experience with BO to know when I stand a chance of hitting with it. Call it my "Deadpool Sense".
DEADPOOL SENSE TINGLING!! /arms buffs and BO
My main setup is CRF2 and BO3, buffing it up for the heavy punch. My pressure damage is kept up with CRF1 and BO2.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that Tractor Beam GREATLY helps with the ACC of BO due to the defense penalty at full stop, with the added bonus of when held stationary and the penalty, BO will generally hit for more.
While I totally understand the frustration with the phaser lance I'd say that constructive feedback is better recieved than voicing our frustration unfiltered.
Phaser lance, phaser lotus, and BO I think would benefit from accuracy testing.
It was a little late I admit. But the point stands. It's hard to do a proper sample testing on something with 3 min cooldown, while devs can test it very quickly. Unless something thinks I will spend 5h to do a 100 hit sample with Phaser lance to prove that there is something wrong with it. Especially its mini "aoe" part. Unless you are perfectly aligned towards target, you miss. The deal is, it is very hard to be perfectly facing your target in fast moving environment like pvp. There will never be a proper feedback for G-X from people, because 99,99% consider it trash in pvp and hence stay away from it.
Tbh I would much prefer that Phaser Lance would be a 5th weapon, something like ultra heavy phaser beam with 45 arc and higher dmg, like in the show, instead a gimmick fire and miss weapon every 3 mins.
"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”

Yeah I almost always try to tractor with BO3 because it seems to miss so much otherwise.
I am going to have to test this more to see if it really is less accurate then BO2 or if it is just the misses are just so much more noticeable because of the huge loss in potential damage of a BO3 miss making it seem that way.
Or it also could be even if BO3 is less accurate you just manage to time it so good that even when not tractoring you still don't miss enough for it to be a problem.
since BO is fired with energy weapons, it can be hard to control like torps can. what would really help is a fire all beams and fire all cannon button. controling the launch of torps is just as important as controlling BO spike, but there isnt a button that holds off fireing the DBB wile cannons fire
I second that, there is no reliable way to fire all your cannons constantly (autofire) without TRIBBLE up your beam overloads/beams. I would like to see this function even more then a 10% boost to BO's.
oh the lotus misses like crazy. i always pair it with a TB. and its interrupt period seems a hell of a lot longer then the andorian cannon overload. making it not necessarily useful, interrupting all your other weapons fire like that too
With regards to BO's accuracy it seems both ranks 1 and 2 are working properly but rank 3 is operating with less accuracy than it should.
My personal experience is that BO 1 misses a lot less than BO 3 all things being equal. I wonder if it is possible for just rank 3 to be slightly bugged.
Do you guys have any evidence on this? I keep hearing this being thrown over the table but I have yet to see any decent logs about this being a fact.
I havent done any massive parsing on it yet, and especially in random matches with constantly changing bonus defenses you need a very high sample rate to get some accurate numbers.
I honestly think it has been circling around in the community for so long now that people just accept it for a fact, although i have done some small testing on a static bonus defense value in a controlled environment (About 100 samples for each overload rank) the maximum difference on all ranks was a few percent at most.
every time i parced myself with BO3 it has HORRIBLE accuracy. don't have any logs i can easily find right now though shooting it, haven't even used BO in a wile now

I'm pretty certain that at one point or another this was true, but the BO3 accuracy bug was stealth fixed (perhaps not even intentionally) some time ago and should behave the same as any other rank now in terms of hit rate.

Yeah we all have those late nights. For what it's worth everything you've said is exactly how I see it too. I'd even go farther and say that the shared CD with BO for the lotus and lance needs to disappear.
Second thought, the abilities mentioned would have much more benefit if they actually affected shields. Even when the Dev team looked at the lance/lotus earlier (two years ago?) it was never explained why it does no damage to shields.

Well i think it has been stealthfixed since at least a month now, probably longer.
It's possible, just not very obvious or intuitive.
For example, on my preferred setup:
Spacebar = fire all weapons
Shift+spacebar = fire all weapons except your double beam bank
Just hold down shift when you're priming your overloads. Release shift to let them fly. Simple.
It would be nice if Cryptic exposed a way for a layperson to do this without having to resort to complex keybinds though.

ok, sounds like there is a way to keep beams from fireing, but how? how does shift single it out?
macros fro executing entire rows do not fire any weapon buttons you place in a row for some reason, like they activate any other ability button. just fixing that would be a perfectly good work around

Actually the ones I use (trayexebytray) do work. It's how my "promethian assault cruiser" runs its cannons and cycles it's plasma BO combo.
I'm at military drill but ill shoot you the keybind I use if I get a chance this weekend.

i run successfully 5 different trey execute binds currently, but couldn't get any trey execute that just had the weapons in them to do anything. i even tried sticking a weapon in a trey execute i knew worked and that didn't fire anything ether
maybe a bind that would fire a single column/row would actually activate it, and set off all my auto fireing weapons. then i just hit the normal fire all energy to get that DBB to fire

under tractor beams... and while target is not under apo or ph...
my bo1 and bo2 were landing almost 100%....naz says 95%, and i believe him. he said he was being selective.
now...
thats under tractor beams tho.... it was all 1v1 against 3 different dudes.
you guys know i dont parse or log shizz.... so, i have no logs for anything...i go on feel.
it was on Damian, Armitage build.... tractor 1,2 with danoobs as well.
accX3 DBB
have fun kill bad guys

I wish i could. However my logs are so huge that both Act, and any decent text editor is choking on them atm lol.

not wile your already fireing your DHCs, theres no control of a BO like there is with torps, and there should be

This could explain it then as I only use BO3 on a BOP, and haven't been in one in about a month.
