So, I have a fancy, new Jem'Hadar Heavy Escort Carrier, and I'm curious, on average, how long it takes for someone to snatch up the Lockbox ships? I've set mine for a small margin under the cheapest one on the Exchange (about 500,000 Credits).
I'm hoping to sell it to buy a different ship for a friend... and while I fully intend to wait as long as it takes, I'd like to gauge how long it will...
Thanks. ^_^

So look on the exchange to see how many carriers there is and see if you can beat them with a lower price, but high enough you feel you can make money.
That or advertise in ESD and hope someone wants the ship.

They're that cheap?
Or you just undercut the cheapest one by 500k? Seems like overkill; if you're the cheapest one up, even by 1 EC, you'll sell it, assuming someone else hasn't come along and put one up for cheaper. It's also not really such a price cut that flippers will be interested in purchasing it; pricing it for them would be the fastest way to sell it.

No, but I just made someone ABSURDLY HAPPY I'm sure. Also, I HATE Bots. Cryptic really should do something about the Bots on the exchange... they TRIBBLE me off... absurdly.
I accidentally put it up for significantly cheaper than I had intended (6.5 million instead of 65 million), and it was immediately bought by a bot. And I mean immediately (1 second later), so it can NOT have been another person.
Well, I'm sure they're very happy now... and I completely accept responsibility for my mistake... but you really should have a chance to take it down before it's snatched up 1 second later. I'd have noticed the mistake...

If I price a lockbox or Lobi ship at or near the cheapest price it usually sells in 1-3 days.
I haven't sold a Jem HEC yet, this is just my experience from selling temporal, Ferengi, and Cardassian lockbox ships and all lobi ships.
Seems like the Jem HEC isn't quite as popular as those other lockbox ships though which is why I haven't tried getting any to sell yet, so it may take a little longer.

With maybe 10,000 people on the exchange, I don't think it had to be a bot.

I've managed to, but I'm sure the ship packs are more carefully monitored than whatever I had posted for an incorrect price, and I'm sure you took a few more seconds to recognize the mistake than I did (I noticed immediately, because I put the wrong item up for sale, instead of putting the right item up for the wrong price).

Which says that you put the ship up for sale, and had time to post this (and since you're wondering how long it will take to sell, it hadn't sold yet,) and then it sold.
All in one second?
You should stop typing so fast, your keyboard will last longer.

Im very sorry that you lost out on that sale. Sadly, this is why you have to be very careful when selling (or buying anything) to triple check the number of digits before you click okay. I know it's useless advice now, but just remember that feeling every time you buy or sell something, and you'll always be sure to double check.
I lost a fortune once in Ultima Online that way. Once was all it took. I know lots of people who've been scammed in other MMOs that way (buyer takes a 0 off of their offer at the very last second, seller doesn't notice and hits "okay" and sells for 1/10 the intended price).
Anyway, sorry to hear it. Luckily, money's not TOO hard to make in this game, so you'll get it back before too long.

Funny, but yes, I should've elaborated more. :P
Nonetheless, I put it up, and my friend mentioned that he might want it, so I took it back down and put it in my bank for a while.
A few hours later, he ultimately said he did not, so I put it back up, accidentally at the wrong price, and it was bought immediately.
EDIT: Indeed, I have cooled down a bit... I had nearly uninstalled STO over my foolish mistake. I realized it's simply credits, I was never interested in keeping the ship anyway... so I didn't lose that much.
Thanks for the responses everyone, I'll be much more careful from here on out.

I read that and it hurt me so much... To know that I wasn't there to snatch it up first.
Another sad thing is... I can post commodities for 2x the lowest price and someone will buy them. Thank you buggy Exchange for making someone think they were getting a deal.

Even with 10,000 people, it literally went up, and was gone. Almost no delay. I'm sorry if I can't buy that...

I can. You ever see what XBOXes are like on Black Friday at Wal-Mart with under a hundred people looking for it.
I'm sure there are real people just staring at the lockbox ship listings and hitting refresh.
So you had time to post this:

This is true. I was doing this when the JH Dreadnought first came out - endlessly waiting for the prices to fall below 90 million.
