Except it doesn't work if the BOFFs aren't exactly the same race. For example, if someone had a Liberated Borg Captain and wanted to make the Borg BOFF a twin, saving the design on one will *not* let you load it on the other because they're different racially.

I believe I already said that.

Numbers/ticks/whatever on the sliders are a *necessary* and easy to implement (especially ticks/lines) and would help people who need to remember slider settings. Without it, its nearly impossible.

I also suggested that they add a mouseover to the slider that shows the numerical value. I think we are in agreement. Saving and loading from text files would be a nice feature to have in addition to the numerical values being shown.

It's also really easier to just memorize a spot on the slider to change one or two little things, rather than save it, and then go in and change everything else you didn't want to change on the other costumes for your main character. I was just going back through the thread and thought of that as an added reason for putting in the old tick marks, a new numerical values mouse over syetem, txt files, or whatever other ideas might be floating around.

Yeah, the old tick marks were good, but if they do go back to that method, I hope they add more (like one brand new one between each of the 'old' ones) for a total of 9 marks (1 in the middle and 4 equidistant each left and right) for finer tuning.

But as we all seem to agree on, *some* kind of notation in some form (ticks, numbers, etc) is necessary.

Okay, it looks like the 'original' lines/tick marks are back that divide the bar into 5 sections (so every 20% of the bar). So, that's definitely a step forward. :D

If its possible though, since the creator is being revamped anyway, could the UI team to add an additional 5 lines/ticks so the bar is divided into 10ths? That'd allow for finer granularity and accuracy when designing characters and trying to mark settings down.

From the patch notes on April 12, 2013:
    • Updated the Tailor and Character Creator:
      • Improved the visuals for the sliders and made the slider handles larger.

The lines and bars have been restored to the sliders. This is a good change. However, I don't know why the slider handles were made wider. I think the thinner handles were better, because they allowed you to judge the position of the slider more precisely.

Not sure this will be covered one way or the other. As I saw when playing, with the new character creation tool, there were no longer markers on the sliderbars.

I would miss that. No so much with character creating, but at the tailor when I want to have another dress for my character, which is no more than a copy of an existing one with changed dress options. Also, when I do want to change the body, these markers are very useful.

Perhaps the new tailor has an option to change (body) features on all characters, this would also fullfill.

I just have to wake up. I see my post has already been covered here right above.

Under the aliengen I found options for female Remans. For the most part I was pleased but some work needs to be done. There are some ears that sink half way into the heads if Reman Female head model is selected.

While we're revamping things, there are two bugs and one tweak that I'd like to bring up, all of which are just reminders of known existing talking points.

1- The KDF Tier IV marauder BOFF costumes bug. I don't really think I need to say more, do I?

2- If I currently on holodeck go into an Omega costume and try and change anything, the whole costume resets to some kind of default (including changing my hair and beard).

3- I understand there are certain things that can't be changable about some of the special BOFFS (the Breen shouldn't be able to take off the helmet, for instance), but I really don't get why we can't change the general costume on the Reman or Jem'Hadar bridge officers. Also, Tier IV Diplomacy/Marauding BOFFS should really have access to both faction's costumes, not just their original faction.

This, a thousand times over! An actual numeric value in a mouseover tooltip would be awesome! That would be the single-best tool for tweaking and re-tweaking our characters' appearance, IMO. Please make it so!

Will body presets ever return to the tailor, or has this function been discontinued? We have only face and hair presets now.

Presets just need to go. I never use them. And if I did it would be at the start of the game and then never again

I should have to look at noob uniforms I will never use everytime i go to the tailor.

The heads cluttering the screen need to go.

I want to be able to set it to default to Advanced since I will never ever use any of the "basic" functions.

Just because you never use a function, that doesn't mean that others don't. I agree, though, that there should be an option to hide the face and hair presets. What I don't like is that they are removing functionality. The body presets are broken on Holodeck, and now they've decided to remove them altogether on Tribble.
