I'm loving the new LCARS UI on Tribble at the moment. It really does make "my" experience with playing STO a lot more authentic now. A lot of people don't like it, but I for one love the change. Really starting to look and feel more Trek now.
The one thing that really annoys me though is the Galaxy class. The Ambassador class model itself got the same special treat ment as the Vesta class when it comes to the visual look and feel of the ship. It has the correct decals and hull textures. I think its about time we had this sort of love and attention to current STO cannon ships, including the Galaxy.
Im not too sure on how others think about this, but I for one grew up with Next Generation, and the Galaxy class is my Enterprise. She looks and feels really under powered and plain now compared to all the newer ships Cryptic keeps dishing out. Its a real shame. She needs more attention.
I know the devs are working the butts off with the new Legacy of Romulus expansion, which I am really looking forward too, but I think its about time Cryptic started going over some "older" ships in game and making them more in line with there cannon counterparts.
This of course is my own opinion.

That's a bit harsh mate to say. As it says at the very bottom of my post, its is my OWN opinion.
And when I was on Tribble the other night, there were MANY people that loved the new UI.
That's both rude and insulting.
Actually I think most people who play this game just love to complain about EVERYTHING and then still play and give the game its money. The UI looks fresh and new compared to the current one, will help bring in new players. The whole idea is to look like a big expansion has taken place (like other mmos charge for) and bring back old players, and bring in new.
he's just one of way to many trolls in this game, who have nothing better to do then troll. Sadly a common feature of Free to Play MMO's, you tend to see less in sub ones as they won't pay just to troll people. (WoW being the only exception)
So, Cryptic, when can we have the Generations Galaxy bridge that we were shown over 4 years ago?

I couldn't agree more with this. Even the fleet Galaxy is still way to underpowered. She definitely needs some TLC that most of the current Cstore ships have been given.
Haha. Thats what I'm talking about. I always thought that bridge looked awesome, and was shocked that the in game one didn't look nothing like this. It was hinted a while back in a previous ask cryptic, that we would eventually get a TNG bundle pack and possible a VOY bundle pack. Nothings been mentioned since.
The 'fresh and new' UI looks like Windows 3.1 with one of its more unpalatable color schemes selected. It's hardly anything new and fresh, since it looks like the layout was done using simple shapes in MS Paint. Hardly what I've come to expect from the STO graphics department.
That having been said, it's what we're getting, so it's what we'll be using. At least it seems more responsive, since buttons actually work every time when you click on them.
Really? I saw just as many trolls in the other P2P games I have used. By far the highest population of troll is in WoW but everyone knows that. But yes I am liking the new UI I think it just needs to be sharpened a bit and it will be perfect, that guy is just rude and if I bump into him in Ker'rat or a pvp match I will take him out for you OP.
The UI is constantly evolving, so who knows what we'll have a year or two from now.
Lets hope a way to delete all 1000 mails in one click :rolleyes:
the new UI skins makes the UI alot easier on CPU.Thats good for pvp and those moment when everything explodes .
Cheers man. The good old Galaxy class needs to be on par with current "new" sto ships. The Ambassador looks gorgeous. We just need this sort of attention on the Galaxy class now. Even if she was given a new hull texture, that would definatley improve the visual look, but she still needs to kick butt too.
Nope, I like it, too. Maybe the font should be a little smaller but does look more TNG to me than the current one.
That's a good idea actually. I for one would be happy if a dev at least said "yes, we will update the Galaxy class", but at the moment it upsets me as every comment that's made about her and how she looks and performs is always ignored.
That's what I was thinking. Maybe they were delaying the TNG pack b/c they've been working on an updated Enterprise_D.
If this is the case, then I for one am all over that. Would be a great strategy. I even remember they said that they were working on tech, to allow you to use the "type 6" hull material (the white one) that's used for all the 2409 ships, on all in game ships. This seems to have been forgotten about. That would at least give another hull texture option for the Galaxy at least.
Only thing they need to change about it are the far too large message windows. They look good, but are far too big.
I like it. Maybe you're the odd one out.
