Romulan fleet holdings & implementation of future factions

We have to ask ourselves. Why aren't these bases already done?
- imho it's only time issue. also, the question of PVP and PVE queues is not solved yet.

So Romulans joining FED/KDF is a partial, time limited solution with a nice sidekick:

Why, do you think are they giving Romulans a chance at other faction's ships and weapons?
Because they are calculating on new people incoming after the launch of the new JJ film, and they hope these completely new people will buy the old ships and Zen store packs - so they will just be getting paid the second time.

Realistically, how long will this influx of new players last?

There is a 2-3 weeks amount of content till your toon hits lvl 50.
Then, there is a 6-8 weeks of grinding the reputations.

So i can imagine new people playing for 3 months, after which time some of them will leave.

This gives Cryptic a timeframe to solve the issue of Fleet Holdings for new factions.

imho the best would be to create a wireframe schema of a Starbase, embassy and other holdings, with an option for changing the textures and coloring.
Practically there would be 3 types of Fleet holdings graphically:
FED, KDF and OTHER. (the Other interior could be a copy/paste of the fed or kdf starbase layout)

Then, a new toon of whichever next faction (Romulan, Ferengi, Cardassian, Vorta... ) would have the opportunity to join whichever fleet they wanted, only KDF and FED's would have to join their own faction's fleet.

The new Romulan, Cardassian, ... fleet would automatically get the Wireframe Starbase with the basic color/texture schema, and they could do a DILL project to change the textures to their liking (green with birds for Romulans, Golden for Ferengi, and so on)

That way the needed immersion will be provided.

Fleet gear - i do not know if there is going to be a space set and a special console set available for Romulans or any other faction, but if so, i would suppose that the Fleet shops would just be showing you the appropriate gear.
So if one fleet houses a Romulan, and a Ferengi, both could build up fleet holdings together, but the Romulan could only buy Romulan themed gear, the Ferengi only the Ferengi gear and so on.

It would just be VERY IMPORTANT to ANNOUNCE these plans, so people could prepare.




If they are NOT making the content faction-neutral, and EVERY other faction's toon will have to choose between an KDF and FED allegiance, they could still have own fleets with holdings.

So people would practically have to talk this out (choose the same allegiance) or we would see fleets, where people can not PVP together (cross factional PVP was announced 1.5 year ago) or do all the PVE fleet actions together, but still can have and build fleet together.

This would also solve the DOFFing problem.
