Even if they had a ship sale when the Romulans are released, it would never be 50% and any new ships just released would be not included like every other ship sale
Make lots of money if new Romulan ships are on discount, say 50%?
Or you could not have a sale and make more money.
Yes, I would love a ship sale, heck why stop at ships go with a whole zen store sale, I know my zen wallet would thank them.
But there is the trap. From Cryptic's perspective, why reduce the cost on something if people are going to buy it anyways. More zen means more money for Cryptic.
There won't be a sale (at least not on the Romulan ships that are released).
The logic behind this is very simple: If I want to buy them and I have the money for it... I will buy them, otherwise I will either wait a promotion or not buy them at all.
So why not take the money from the people that would buy them regardless, and then after say... 3 months release them on sale for some extra cash?

look at the kumari for example. if i recall, a week or two after its release we saw a Zen sale.
I dont think i've seen a single C-store sale aside from the Doff packs, since PWE took over.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

I seem to remember a 50% off ship sale a while ago. I bought most of my ships then.
Putting brand new items on sale is quite possibly the worse thing you can do. You're taking a huge cut in your profits and are unlikely to see any where near the increase in sales you need to make up for it.
When the new Rom ships come out tons of people will gladly pay the $20-$25 for them, because they're new and for the new faction. There's no need to discount them, because they'll sell well at full price.

This. There is no logic in cryptic putting on-sale something I was going to buy anyways. You are just cutting into your profits.
You put on sale stuff I wasn't going to buy. that way I look at the whole new price and say "Hey you know, maybe it is time I got that Defiant I always wanted"
So wait, the new Romulan faction will not have free ships included? What are they gonna make us have to BUY the D'Deridex, Romulan BoP, etc?
Think like the Feds and Klingons now. There are free ships you can get with Dilithium. But there are also ships that you can get in the C-store.
Some might be Retrofits of lower Tier ships. Some will be T5 ships in their own right, but my guess is any of the popular ships BoP, D'Deridex etc, will be C-store if you want them as a tier 5 ship.

Most they do is a 20% sale on ships. Still waiting for a sale to get the Vesta and some bank slots.

No, they did a 50% one about a year and a half or so a go.
